Is it possible to begin a thread and pin it to The top of the board?
The yanks have so many injuries to keep up with, it may be a good idea to have a place to monitor them.
Or, we can start an entirely new board!
Seriously, what's the deal with Youkilis, Cervelli, et al.?
Friar can't keep it all straight.

Cervelli is out till late June / early July.
Youkilis no projection. He's only recently started some physical activity. No baseball activities yet.

I am not sure he is committed. If I hear he has been on the golf course........... He hungs out in a lousy clubhouse environment for years.....could have a lifelong effect...just sayin.

He simply has a chronic bad back. He could be out a long time. He's no good to us in his present condition.

Youkilis has an old mans body, for sure.
The rehab assesments and updates always crack me up.
"Yesterday, so-and-so did some light jogging and soft toss. Tomorrow he's scheduled to Play some catch"
Light jogging and soft toss is what 18month old babies do!

Injury updates: Hafner, Chamberlain, Jeter, Nova, etc.
The bulk of Joe Girardi’s pregame press conference was little more than an injury report…
TRAVIS HAFNER Out of the lineup for a third straight day, Hafner will do tee and toss today and it’s possible he could pinch hit tonight. Girardi also said Hafner will take batting practice, but he said it in such a way that I’m not sure whether he meant on the field, or if he was simply referring to the indoor tee and toss.
JOBA CHAMBERLAIN Obviously he’s not activated. The Yankees decided, after his first rehab outing on Tuesday, that Chamberlain is not quite ready to pitch in the big leagues. Is it a matter of health or simply being prepared for big league hitters?
“I think it’s both,” Girardi said. “A lot of times you’ll see where guys can actually throw or swing but you don’t feel that they’re at 100 percent, full power. And we don’t think he’s quite there yet, so we’re going to make sure he’s ready.”
Chamberlain will play catch today, but there’s no set date for his next rehab appearance.
DEREK JETER The Yankees shortstop has been reevaluated by his ankle specialist. There is progress, but Jeter’s not ready to take any sort of significant step forward.
“It’s healing,” Girardi said. “They see the bone is going back together. They say it’s healing. I think he’ll be out of the boot sometime shortly and then he’ll go from there. It was good news what we got. It is healing.”
IVAN NOVA Originally sidelined with triceps inflammation, Nova then experienced a setback when he felt some discomfort in his upper back, near his left shoulder. He pitched in one extended spring training game before the setback, and Girardi said he’ll pitch in another minor league game — I assume extended spring, but Girardi only indicated it would be in Tampa — on Monday.
ALEX RODRIGUEZ “He did take tee and toss and felt pretty good the other day doing that,” Girardi said. “We’ve said all along, that it’s probably sometime after the break (that he’ll be back). I think it’s way too early to project when he would go on a rehab.”
KEVIN YOUKILIS Today was a scheduled day of treatment, Girardi said, but Youkilis has been doing tee and toss. He’s expected to take batting practice “pretty soon,” but Girardi didn’t get any more specific. “He has started to take swings and feels better,” Girardi said.
MARK TEIXEIRA No real update. I’m not even sure his name was brought up today. Girardi said yesterday that Teixeira is taking regular batting practice and could progress to live batting practice (against an actual pitcher).
MICHAEL PINEDA Scheduled for four innings or 50 pitches tomorrow. Will be either extended spring training or an intrasquad game. Girardi said he still expects Pineda to be in the big leagues this summer.
“We’ll continue to build him up,” Girardi said. “Starters, as you know, take a lot longer than relievers because you have to get them to 100 pitches. For a kid that hasn’t pitched in a couple of years, that’s something you may want to see a couple of times to make sure he’s ready to go every fifth day.”

Of course, if it DOES kill you, you're pretty much dead.

It's not just you, Felson. I don't know if it's THE biggest bunch of unadulterated BS ever (humans have a propensity for that), but it's undoubtedly in the top 5.
