I wouldn't give A-Rod a HOF vote, but that doesn't mean I'm going to trash my team's 3B. Don't hold your breath waiting for me to say "Ha!! (snuck that in just for A-Rod) You deserve it!! (Bleep) You, you piece of (bleep)", which serves no purpose whatsoever.
Because the other 103 know that they will benefit NOTHING from coming clean, they will remain silent. To have the commish feign being "shocked and outraged" only magnifies the problem. He, as well as every player, coach, team executive, and writer, knew there was a huge problem long ago. The way the problem has been mishandled only delays the hope of any kind of solution.

The way the problem has been mishandled only delays the hope of any kind of solution. I'm not trying to trash him, but if I am critical of him, I believe it is only because of what he brought upon himself. Will I support him when helps the team win? Yes, I will. Will I admire him as a player and a person? NO, not until I believe he represents the type of person that is deserving of my respect. Right now I do not believe he is. He lied, cheated, misled, and displayed himself to be an individual who was solely concerned with his own welfare. I don't think there is too much disputing that. Yes, I blame the commish and the players union just as much, if not more. Trust me, I am no fan of either of those two parties. But still, no one was forcing these players to make these choices. I do not see any difference between a non Yankee using steroids and a Yankee player using steroids. Am I supposed to wildly cheer a guy who thought it was ok to mislead me as a fan? Am I supposed to stand behind a guy who has been blessed beyond comprehension, and yet it wasn't enough? Sorry, that's just not sitting well with me. Let's see what A-Rod does to redeem himself. Let's see some good come out of this in his deeds and actions. Perhaps then I will regain some respect for the man.

Perhaps I misread your take. It appeared that you were applauding the witch hunt, which has done nothing to lessen the problem.
