An update on the Yankees’ pitching plans:
Nestor Cortes is scheduled to start in tomorrow’s series finale against the Guardians.
Clarke Schmidt and Cody Poteet pitch today. No Luis Gil this weekend.

Guardians starting 2 righties. Though I expect Boone will start 1 guy in each. I'd like to see Oswaldo play third in both. He's been off all week. Maybe Aaron will give Volpe or Gleyber a blow in one.
Each catcher will probably start one.
So Poteet is just the 27th man for the doubleheader, right? No one sent down.

He’s not hurt. Boone / Blake always play the long game. If pen throws a lot of innings today it wouldn’t be ideal to start Gil tomorrow.

Luis Gil is available out of the bullpen today for the #Yankees, Aaron Boone says. He could be used in a “big inning.”
If he does pitch in relief, Boone would plan to use him at the end of the Blue Jays series. If he doesn’t, he’ll slot back in and start on Monday in Toronto.

Seems a shame not to continue to build his pitch count

Seems a shame not to continue to build his pitch count He threw 95 last time out. There logic is sound. Blake talking about it now.

If Gleyber had hit his fly to right, it would be 3-0 Yanks. OTOH, I was convinced Ramirez had given them a 2-0 lead.
Long day of rooting ahead.

Funny that Grisham hit a home run in his first Yankee Spring Training game.
I expect VERY LITTLE from his bat.
Oh well, 1-0.

Let Jones play. Sit Grisham; use him for late D.

BTW, did anyone else think Brennan trapped Volpe's liner?
