Lost in all the confusion Rafael Soriano said he likes it here and won't opt out. Seems like pages and pages of criticism of opt out clauses COULD be followed by an "OOOOPS, good job, Cash" or two. Anyone?

I'll must say that I'm glad it was resolved quickly. I hate it that sports fans now get so wrapped up in players' contracts and business matters. I know I'm old school. But I find these contract issues to be repulsive.

Frankie is still a kid. Probably only active BTB member that never watched a baseball game in B & W.

paul oneil ....the only guy who signed for less just to stay a yankee......they should retire his number based on that alone!!! Didn't Mattingly do it too? He had that thing going with Puckett and Molitor where they wanted to keep a lid on salaries and help contain ticket prices, etc. Skinnyhead kinda stuff.

Norkee, you have me stumped on that one. I don't recall ticket prices ever being an issue at any time during Mattingly's career. I'd have to locate my chart but best seat in the house when Donnie played was $25. Ouch!

Nah, I remember Mattingly playing "hardball" with Steinbrnner over his last contract. I believe he was looking for 3mil/yr or something like that.
