Jake Cave is a MLB Ready Bat with developing lefty power. Only question will we have a 25 man spot for him at the start of the season.

Then do it! In Schwaber’s defense, he has slimmed down working hard this off season. Reports he looks good and quicker than this past season. It won’t help improve defense much. But I wouldn’t write him off yet. He is coming off an ACL last season. Jake Cave is good and may see him part of the 2018 call ups. You can't blame 150 Ks in 486 PAs on an ACL. John has it exactly right - a younger Chris Carter.

I still say we don't need or want a regular DH...rotate guys through especially OFers if Jake is gone and Clint is our 4th.

It would be great to have more lefty power. Bird's absence really hurt us last year. Try Schwarber if you want. But don't offer a lot. He has a lot to prove.

I'd rather give Cave a shot than Schwarber, even if all they give up is a warm bottle of soda.

I really don't think we need to worry much about adding more hitting for 2018...look at what we did in AL rankings in 2017 and I see no reason to think it'll be worse this year.
HRs - 1st TBs - 1st OPS - 2nd Runs - 1st
Pitching is where the focus should be...add another starter.

Love seeing Florial's name on this list.
He could be our next Gardy.

Love seeing Florial's name on this list. He could be our next Gardy. He'll be better...5 tool. As fast with more power. I'm telling ya...saw him play first hand this last summer and told my friend..."Reminds me of Jr"! He agreed.

Plus I talked with him before a game and he's a really nice, humble, amiable kid...and I love the way he sprinted on and off the field looks like he really loves to play.

His Ks doesn’t really alarm me much, It’s his BA and contacts. Judge had a higher K rate didn’t he?

While I agree that a starting pitcher is need No. 1, I do think the lineup could use some lefty balance.
Cave has hit 39 home runs in 600 minor league games. Did hit 20 last year.

Cave has matured as a hitter as his body filled out. He’s a polished hitter with some pop.

Chance Adams was specifically mentioned by Hal Steinbrenner as a prospect fans could see with the Yankees this season

Perhaps they'll find the next Steve Stone...or Rocky Colavito.

Judge had a higher K rate didn’t he? p Judge had an OPS that was 267 pts higher. [ We re taking about Ks. If you want to talk about OPS and comparison, then Holliday and Schwarber have nearly similar numbers, not good but he does have 30 HRs and only 24/25 year old. Not asking him tif be a clean up hitter but a 7 hitter perhaps. Pending on what it would costs I would risk him. If too much, then pass.
