Not at the top of his game but I felt he deserved better. You could see the talent. 1st time in a Yankee game in almost one year.

Why did they pitch to Lindor, who was blazing hot, in the 8th inning of a close game? Poor managing.

jimbue2,
When a guy is as hot at the plate as Lindor was last night, you don't play with fire, you throw pitches off the plate he can't hit. If he chases it fine, if he walks, it's okay. I'm not giving a guy who's totally locked in a chance to hit it out and win the game. And so Chad Green puts a 97 mph pitch in his wheelhouse and we lose the game. In any game, if a guy hits two home runs, I'm not giving him a chance to hit a third in the same game.

He certainly should have been more careful with Lindor.

I've been looking at last year, and Schmidt had 3 appearances, including 1 start, which was in our 60th (and obviously, last) regular season game. He went 4, and gave up 4, in a 5-0 shutout by the Marlins.
Had to wait for Toronto to lose, 7-5 to Baltimore, to guarantee our spot. 33-27.

Maybe they add Adam Warren to the roster. He’s clearly earned it.

Greene been giving up hr an appearance…. He’s got nothing left
