Joey Gallo has 4 HR, .929 OPS over his last 9 games.

Joey Jo-Jo! It is a thing of beauty when he crushes one. And I loved his drag bunt vs. Minny. Just wish he'd make contact more regularly.

I like the guy and havent been critical, and as much as I like the OPS his Ba/Ob % is still way too low for a team that is struggling to score. He's .200/.333 in last 9

There's something pretty spectacular about an OF of Stanton, Gallo and Judge. It's like having three tanks in your outfield ready to fire.

I wish he and Rizzo would use the left side of the field a little more often. I do agree that when Gallo hits one it is beautiful sight.

The Ks are aweful but -- and I'm not being a smart aleck -- Analytics devotees would say that they don't really matter. Gallo is third on the Yanks, behind Judge and Stanton, in OPS and RBI and he is tied with Aaron for team lead (and 7th in MLB) in HRs. The front office cares little (IMO) about Ks or BA if the power numbers are there, which they are.

Ohtani .219 since All Star break - that’s not MVP performance.

Clearly never hit but he’s a run producer. wRC+ currently 123.

Yes, he has value offensively with his home runs and walks. Not to mention his d. But I also really get the feeling that he’s the type of player who struggles mightily in postseason. Hopefully I’m wrong and we get a chance to see.

Joey just missed hitting that grand slam last night - would have won the game for us.
Ever notice how Rizzo always hits one loud foul to right every at-bat? If he could just keep them fair.

A laugher tonight, but it was 2-0 in the sixth.
Thanks, Joey.

If he gets the MVP after his 2nd half it’s not deserved. Shut down as a pitcher along with a Gary Sanchez like bat. Novelty / uniqueness of his skillset will get votes but not enough 1st Place votes.

I hope you're right, John; then, I'll have more respect for the institution -- but I'm not so confident.
