It's amazing that NC State would not even have made the field had Virginia not absolutely blown the ACC semi-final game to them. Hoos missed 4 foul shots in the last minute or so, all by their two good foul shooters. Any one of them would have iced the game. State went on to win the ACC Tourney over the Heels, then kept on running. They have been really impressive. And they have played better and better every day since that game against the Cavs. They may run into a juggernaut in UConn, but the Wolfpack is very dangerous.

They seem to really enjoy themselves. Being the underdog can be a strength

i do love the nc state story and game. i remember their last championship vividly and i was just a little guy! "The Cardiac Pack" they called them. I moved to Raleigh the following summer and the place was still on Cloud 9. All the Jim Valvano interviews didn't hurt. With Duke and UNC just a few miles away, it must have been what NY baseball was like before the Giants and Dodgers headed west.

Glad you guys are having fun. I mean that. Haven't looked much, but I don't think I was too close to last?

Glad you guys are having fun. I mean that. Haven't looked much, but I don't think I was too close to last? Going into final week, you, me and my son Mike are the bottom 3. Looks pretty much like Effjay and YIIBs have the best shot of going into a final game tied if NC State doesn't knock off Purdue.

On the ESPN challenge I’m ranked number 10,400,000.
So there were 22,114,631 ballots submitted. Guess I’m not going to win

Effjay/Yankin showdown on Monday would be pretty sweet. We'll all have to take sides!

Everyone but Effjay at this point! I picked them because they are the most complete team. No other reason. I don’t root for them. Of course I will tomorrow!

Assuming it's a UConn/Purdue final, I can't recall in all the years we've been doing this that our pool goes down to a final game IN A TIE! The odds of that must be pretty high given all the possible scoring in the early rounds. If it happens, this'll be BTB March Madness History!

Well, the UCONN women lost. I didn’t stay up to watch the whole game. When UConn took an early lead, I thought how strongly television ratings will be impacted if Iowa loses. The offensive foul called on UConn at the end of the game really makes me wonder…

The offensive foul called on UConn at the end of the game really makes me wonder… They lost because they did not rebound when clark missed a free throw about 20 seconds earlier….

I watched. Great game, each team looked out of it then punched back. Tough call at the end, looked like the right one though I wish they didn't call it. I loved the heads up of Clark throwing it off Bueckers on the 2nd to last play to kill precious time with about 1 second left. Gotta give Bueckers credit for saying the right things post game about how it wasn't all down to one play. Not sure if anyone can beat SC, but we'll see.

Assuming it's a UConn/Purdue final ... Sports betting just recently arrived in NC. Guy at work--an NC State grad--is up over 10 grand riding his Alma mater. (Don't know if it's intro only, but if you bet $5, they give you $200 in your betting account, so you're into house money off the bat.) Don't know what the co-worker is doing for Purdue game, but who but him had NC State to this point. Locals are recalling when the '83 team won it all vs. the Phi Slama Jama team from Houston (Olajuwon, Drexler, et al). Me? I have no illusions, nor am I sitting on $10k in winnings.
