Aaron Boone's update on DJ LeMahieu (bruised right foot): “DJ is still not there. He did some more things today but is still pretty sore and dealing with it. He’s probably a little more of a long shot for Opening Day, but we’ll see. As days go off the calendar, it just depends on how he improves every day.” Ugh

DJ LeMahieu (right foot) will undergo another MRI on Friday. LeMahieu will remain behind in Tampa, Fla., and Aaron Boone said he didn't know if LeMahieu might be ready by the April 5 home opener.
They can backdate his IL stint if they think he’s going to healthy in the near future.

Normal trajectory for a player his age. We see it all the time. Who's surprised?

That's what I was going to say Skinny. No surprise here.

This may be the death knell of DJ as leadoff, if not altogether as a Yankee.

I'll bet Cashman was surprised. Amazing how baseball executives continue to make the same mistakes.

I'll bet Cashman was surprised. Amazing how baseball executives continue to make the same mistakes. What same mistake? This board was unanimously over the top in favor of signing DJ for 2 years. That he seems to get hurt every year now is not a repeat mistake by Cash.

Aaron Boone says DJ LeMahieu's latest MRI revealed a non-displaced fracture in his right foot. Going to be re-imaged in another two weeks. Can continue rehabbing drills.

Non displaced fracture is actually good news. Means the doctor believes it can heal on its own with no surgery.

But the daily reports we've been getting for 3 weeks have been misleading, at best.

But the daily reports we've been getting for 3 weeks have been misleading, at best. Not really. Boone right after he was X-RAY’d said they saw swelling.

he was plan A, now he is plan C. yanks need to proceed as if he is gone and if can work his way back in so be it. his feet are his achilles heel, it’s a fact. he’s gonna be awhile.

I never understood the Hicks or DJ contracts. It didn’t seem that anyone else wanted either one of them and the Yankees gave them long term contracts. I liked both players at the time of the contracts, but couldn’t understand why they were given long contracts.
