Tough night. Gallen is Arizona’s top pitcher and really good. Cortes needs better first innings.
My biggest concern are the batting averages of anyone not named Soto, Volpe, or Cabrera.

I’m interested to see Barry’s umpire’s scorecard for last night. Not that it would have likely changed the outcome, but still will be interesting to see.

Kay/Cone cited that Judge has the MLB record for 3rd strike calls out of the bottom of the zone. It was like 160-something IIRC -- maybe 120-something, but still far too many. Bring on the robo-umps.

I did not see much but I did see a horrible called strike 3 on Judge. Way low! I looked through the mlb charts. Besides the Judge call, he did a pretty good job calling the zone and being consistent. Cortes got a ball call on close strike, but no harm. Volpe’s complaint on a strike 3 call was a strike.

He called Suarez out on an obvious ball. I thought he was really bad all game. Gleyber's leadoff at bat in the first - he called the 3-0 pitch a strike when it wasn't close. Fortunately, he ultimately walked.
