I realize this is a ridiculous request, but a lawyer I met in Cincinnati (I have actually spoken to him many times over the years on the phone) is a huge Yankee fan, even though he's from Lexington, KY. He is planning to be in NY with his family over the 4th of July and would love to see Yankee Stadium.
When he told me that Boston was the opponent, we both laughed, realizing tix will be a virtual impossibility. Nevertheless, I promised I'd post a message with his request. Please let me know if you become aware that any tix are available. Ideally, he'd like three tickets.

To add to the improbablilty, he wants an odd number?!?!?!? We can all dream.
In the summer of 1994 ago a friend and I were walking around Fenway when the Yanks were in town. We had no tix and just wanted to have a few pops, soak in the atmosphere and watch the game at a local watering hold. Near game time, we passed a father and his young son. He asked us if we needed seats. We of course said yes. He said he just wanted $20 each for them to cover his parking. We looked at the tix and realized we had just won the lottery.
The seats were in THE FRONT ROW on the first base line. We bought that guy more food and drink than he could consume and the kid went home with more loot than he could carry. It was one of the greatest days ever....and the Yankees won.
It CAN happen.

Phil and I have a somewhat similar story involving Fenway and the Yankees. We purchased tickets for a weekend series back in 1981 (Winfield's 1st season with the Yanks). We drove up but had no hotel reservation. We tried a few hotels in downtown Boston but they were all booked. We decided to go try the Sheraton since the Yankees stay their. Phil walked up to check us in and they said they couldn't find the reservation. Phil said we called the 800#. The front desk person said something like they screwed up again. They asked if it would be ok if we stay in a converted large conference room and they would give us some portable beds. When Phil was registering I saw all the Yankee luggage piled in the lobby - then Billy Martin came down to the front desk - with his hair wet and a towel around his shoulder. Throughout that weekend we ran into Yankees in the elevator and at breakfast. We also saw the Scooter who like us walked from Fenway back to the hotel.

Long overdue! You have more than just made my day, Yankin' It. This is such great news! I'm hoping both my boys will be with me. Paul will be in C'ville, and Jacob has been traveling, but right now I think all three of us will be present.

Funny, but reading posts every day it is hard to differentiate who you met and who you didn't. I know more about some of you guys than I do about my biological family. (and if you behave I will keep it quiet ;D)
Can't wait to see you all.
