I got the following e-mail today from my pal in Cincinnati:
"I do a lot of volunteer work with the Cincinnati City Gospel Mission. Last night we had our annual dinner and silent auction.
Attached is a photo of a framed display of an Alex Rodriguez Yankees jersey that was donated to the City Gospel Mission. The minimum bid of $500 was not made. Consequently, they are looking to sell it and have asked me if I could help them get listed as a consignment on Hunt Auctions.
I thought I'd run it by you to see if you have any interest before I did anything else. If you, or anyone on BTB are interested in this, tell them to contact me. I'm willing to listen to reasonable offers. Steiner and other on-line memorabilia sites are selling it at $840 to $1,150."
My friend reminds me to tell you that it is for charity and the payment will be to a 501(c)(3) organization. The charity helps needy kids.
If anyone is interested, send me (Lefteroo) a PM and I'll put you in touch with my friend in Cincy. He is, by the way, a great guy and an amazing baseball fan.
