In case anyone didn't see or hear it, Tanyon gave up 2 runs, and 4 hits in 2 innings last night in his 2nd rehab stint in Tampa. His total numbers came to 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 BB and 4 Ks. Thus it was enough to convince Mel, Cash and Mr. Torre to bring up Sturtze and designated Karsay to wherever.
But still when Taynon returns there will have to be one more adjusting to do on the 25 man roster. Who goes? Send Phillips back? Put Bernie on DL? Is there a trade for Felix, Stanton or Q in the works? Giambi is still a mystery to me. Per Donnie Baseball, he didn't even know that Giambi's forearm was bothering him when they went through all those workouts last week...
At the moment, we got to hope that Brownie, Moose and Pavano pitch remarkably well with 2 youngsters and RJ on the DL. This is where the bullpen needs to step up big time because we have to expect that Wang and Henn may go and try and give us 5 or 6 quality innings...

Well, not stellar numbers, but I guess he's ready. But, I don't see much of a numbers problem. RJ's not on the DL (not yet, anyway), so Henn gets sent back down when Sturtze comes back. If RJ does go on the DL, then he's off the 25-man roster. I'm sure they'd like to get down to 11 pitchers, but if they go with the 2 kids, they may have to keep the pen well-stocked.

Good news! I hope he is really ready to work because the Yanks will rely a lot on him if the offense doesn't score a lot. Mel, Cash and Torre really want to turn this around quickly because his rehab didn't last long. Tanyon is a big part of the bullpen...
