As much disdain as I have for #13, I think Lasorda is overstating things - McGwire, Big Head, Sosa, Clemens, Palmeiro, all preceded #13, all denied they used for years, and did as much as #13 to ruin the game. I'll agree that his suing the union as well as MLB is pathetic, but it doesn't really make his crimes any worse.
I doubt that #13 will see any high, inside pitches - he's going to retire as physically unable to perform and skulk off with his remaining $61M. Good riddance.
