Or is Michael Kay a little too honest on his talk show. He is on the verge of p*ssing off some players, mangers and the Boss. It could cost him his YES job if the Boss is in one of his moods

It's the thing that I like best about Michael Kay. He actually says things that matter. In this day and age of "corporate-speak" and "agent-talk" give me Michael Kay any day of the week.

Why, what's happening? Please share with us out of NY/NJ area folks...

Honesty is what cost Jon Miller his job broadcasting the O's, but he's doing just fine for the Giants and ESPN, thankyouverymuch. If Kay is doing the same thing, and receives the same fate, more power to him.

Why, what's happening? Please share with us out of NY/NJ area folks... Nothing in particular. Michael Kay is one of those guys who just runs his mouth and doesn't censor himself. For example, I heard him one afternoon go on and on about how much he personally can't stand Mike Mussina. The best thing about Kay is that he's not going for shock value. He's just speaking his mind. And the fact that he's on the inside where the Yankees are concerned gives him lots to talk about.

What was he saying about Mussina? Why can't he stand him?

Just curious...

Mussina's pretty unpopular all over - he's pretty taciturn, somewhat arrogant, pretty much uncoachable, and something of a prima donna. He and Scott Erickson were very cliquish, and encouraged the younger pitchers to ignore the pitching coaches. Lots of O's fans were not unhappy to see him go, notwithstanding that he was far and away their best pitcher at the time.

Wow, didn't know that about Mussina. He doesn't look like that.

That's not surprising about either Kay or Moose.
Mike Mussina graduated from Stanford in 3 years, with an economics degree, so you can be sure he probably doesn't fit in too well with the 'meat-head jock' types in most club-houses. He also seems to be a bit on the arrogant side.
Michael Kay has some good things to say, but he's also a bit of a wind-bag.
Both seem to have over-sized egos, which translates to a bad relationship. But, you've gotta give credit to Kay for not always toeing the Yankee line, and telling it like it is.

I love TMKS, I love his style and sick sense of humor. I just though how can he ever get Giambi on the air or Joe Torre after he criticises them. True or not true. If Boss George hears something he doesn't like it could be Center Stage with John Sterling.
