It burns me up to see BRAD HALSEY at least pitching respectably well for D-Backs, WILEY MO PENA bopping already 6 HRS, NICK JOHNSON, hitting over .300 and on base at least once nearly every game, YHENCY BRAZOBAN, the Dodger's closer playing decent filling in for Gagne, RANDY FLORES lefty specialist for the Cardinals despite has a 5.00 plus ERA, has got out some key lefties in some of the Cards' wins ...The point? At least they would be filling in for some of the aging over loaded stars....Leave the youngsters alone for several years, not based on their week or month of performance!!!! Someday we need to give ALEX GRAMAN a few shots. Someday, we'll give the ball back to SCOTT PROCTOR once he makes some adjustments in Columbus. Someday MITCH JONES will get a shot in OF. Lets not look forward to acquiring trades to fill our needs in the next couple of months. Lets stick what we have. Bench or release some overbloated contract players and give the youngsters some shot.

As you know, that was the period of time when Gene Michael and Buck Showalter cultivated the neucleus of the late '90s dynasty.

I agree...but remember- it's not like we dumped blue-chippers for "old" stars. The trades we made were in acquiring Javy Vasquez, Jeff Weaver, Drew Henson (part deux), AROD...My point is, the assumption these days is we dumped kids for "aging" stars. Not true.
The real moral to the story is pick your trade targets wisely....the weight of the pinstripes can kill ya.
Now...please know I excluded Kevin Brown from this discussion- that was a mistake, no doubt about it and I can't sugar coat it. But it was in reaction to Pettitte leaving...not an excuse, just a reason. But, that was the exception, not the rule.
The Yankees traded good prospects for very good/ great major league players either entering or in their primes...moves you make any day of the week, IMO.

I feel your pain 23, but some of us thought Halsey would eventually flop, and most signed onto the deal sending Nick away for Vazquez, and thought that Drew Henson would anchor the hot corner for a decade.
Brazoban hurts a lot, of course, because he was sent away at the expense of...
Ouch. I can't even type it, but he allowed hits to eight of nine guys last night.
Anyway, all we can do is hope that Sean Henn has nothing in common with Graman but the arm with which they throw.
And OT, but another positive is Jorge, who risked his body in a seeming lost cause last night, and went yard too.
YANKEE BASEBALL!!!

If you are going to make a trade, at least do it for a young player. We became a dynasty with home grown talent, and it do hurts to see many of those prospects playing nice for other teams. No more trading prospects for a while, please. We have the tools to be a good team, they just need to get started. Lets slowly build up another dynasty with our own prospects.
