good bounce back/comeback win last night, and that too without Rose.
If they stay at 6 after Sunday, that loss vs. Lakers will have been huge !!!
Anyone else note that Barrett keeps committing "stepped out of bounce" turnovers, almost always towards the end of games !!
Looking forward to their weekend games more than those of the Yanks.

Can anyone explain the tie breakers should the Knicks end up in a 2 or 3 way tie for the fourth seed.

In the event two or more teams are tied in the standings, a series of tiebreakers are applied to determine which team receives the higher seeding.
Two-Team Tiebreaker: 1. Better record in head-to-head games 2. Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division) 3. Higher winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division) 4. Higher winning percentage in conference games 5. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference 6. Higher winning percentage against playoff teams in opposite conference 7. Higher point differential between points scored and points allowed
Three-Team Tiebreaker: 1. Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division) 2. Best head-to-head winning percentage among all teams tied 3. Highest winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division) 4. Highest winning percentage in conference games 5. Highest winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference 6. Highest point differential between points scored and points allowed

Pretty simple:
If Knicks are in a two way tie with hawks, they are in 4th because of their 2-1 record against hawks.
If Knicks in two way tie with heat, they are in 6th because they were 0-3 vs heat
Their only possibilities are 4th if they beat the Celtics today or 6th with a loss- because I don’t expect the heat to lose to the rockets. Any 9 from BTB board can beat the rockets !!!
GOOOOOOOOKNICKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who would have thunk it ?? With my preseason prediction of 32, I thought I was being overly optimistic. But 41 wins !!! They would be at 0.500 in a 82-game season !!!!!
They remind me a lot of the 90s teams. Not as many brutes as on those teams, but defense-minded. Fall behind and come back in the 4th with unrelenting defense.
Now, everything is gravy.........I can certainly see them getting past the Hawks. After that, it will be tough.
Nice retirement present to Marv.
Good luck Knickerbockers !!!

Improving 20 games in a season is unheard of in today’s nba ... coach has made a load of difference and the role players have all bought in ... a pleasure to watch now ...

If Thibs is not coach of the year, it would be a travesty.
I may be biased, but I can’t think of a player more valuable to a team’s success (+20 win season) than Randle.

Thibs has to be COTY. As for Randle he may be the most valuable but someone probably has better numbers. Valuable does not equal numbers. On a positive note there is much less hate for the Knicks than with the Yankees in terms of these awards. So maybe Thibs and Randle have a chance. Go Knicks.

I am excited about the Knicks in the playoffs. They are already playing with house money. No one expected how good this team has become. Go Knicks!

they have beaten good teams during the season (one-game "series"). I am curious to see how they hold up against the same team night after night.
I agree with TT about playing with house money........no expectations, but thoroughly enjoyable ride !!

I am very excited about today's game and the fact that the Knicks not only made the playoffs but that they have a good chance in this round. They may not get through round two but they won't be an easy draw. I am curious as to how they will fare with 15000 crazy, success starved fans at the Garden. If they win convincingly they will establish the Garden being a tough venue. If they choke they might shift momentum in the wrong direction. Anyway we are playing with house money. Go Knicks.

Tough game 1. I think that the inability to stop Trae Young in the paint and Atlanta's deadly 3 point shooting for the corners cost us the game. Julius seemed tight but Burks and Rose gave us a chance. It's a long series and I think we can win a game or 2 in ATL. Go Knicks.

yup, it is frustrating to see them turn the ball over so much, especially at crunch time.
Most of the game, I was wishing for a Oakley/Mason/Ewing-type tackle of Young going down the middle. They need to get a better handle on that....

I am sure that Thibbs is working on some adjustments after game one. We must play better defensively.
