Just curious to know what you've heard about the Springsteen acoustic shows. . . the missus and I are going on Saturday.
Also, what is your fav. Springsteen song/album? For me, it's Tunnel of Love, with my fav. song being "Born to Run." One of the greatest rock anthems, IMHO.
This question is open to anyone, BTW. . . ;D

You are so lucky to live out there where you can still get tickets to Bruce. It's next to impossible in the NE. My favorite Springsteen album is Darkness on the Edge of Town because that tour was the first time I saw him live. My favorite songs are BTR and Thunder Road. He opened w/Prove it all Night and then he did! Let us know how the show was.#nosmileys#nosmileys

I hate you niner. ;D We're going to be out of town when Springsteen is here, or I would have spilled blood to get tickets. Favorite album - close call between BTR (great songs, but overproduced) and The River. The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle and Born in the USA get honorable mentions. Favorite song - Spirit in the Night - not his best, really, but the song that introduced me to Bruce, and it remains a great song in concert. The acoustic version of Born in the USA, If I should Fall Behind, Rosalita, and Sandy get honorable mentions.

I just got my tix for Bruce in the Continental Arena- gonna be wierd set up...but what the hell. I saw him acoustic at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, Ma (plus about 10 times on the Tom Joad tour)...he is great full-band obviously, but I've seen that so much that I really like the acoustic stuff. I've seen him about 60 times- from Syracuse (Carrier Dome) to NJ (Stone Pony)to Boston (Garden/ Fleet/ Orpheum) to CT (Hartford/ NH)to Somerville...
Favorite Album- Wild Innocent E St. Shuffle
Favorite Song- Too hard to call..."Lost in the Flood" "The Promise" are up there..."Darkness on the Edge of Town" (the version from Live 75 to 85 is off the charts). "Matamora Banks" is up there, too (too soon to say)...but, "Backstreets" and "Jungleland" started it for me so if there are a couple sentimental favorites I guess it's those.
Favorite Show- scheduled- Last Night Reunion Tour- Madison Sq. Garden- 41 Shots, Code of Silence, Lost in the Flood, Blood Bros.
close second- last night Rising tour at Shea Stadium- Bob Dylan guested.
Favorite acoustic- Somerville- incredible night for a Bruce Lunatic like me...I was five rows back and he was sitting on a stool and just yuckyting with people and winging it.
The new shows are supposed to be like "Tunnel of Love" done acoustically- not as slow as TJ, but still solo. He plays a lot of piano- which reminds you just how talented this freak is.
Wish he'd play "With Every Wish" on this tour..."New Timer" and "Straight Time" too "sip a beer and thirteen inches of barrel drops to the floor..."
Have a good show...as bad as the Yanks are treating me now...is as good as Bruce's new album is- can't wait to see it live. check out "http://www.backstreets.com" for the best news.

I agree with Assbury -- hard to pick a favorite Bruce album, but is pressed, I'd have to go with the Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle -- one of best albums in history of rock and roll. Best song -- I really got started with Jungleland and Thunder Road -- so they're my sentimental picks -- The River is a great album and song as well -- way too many to pick from really.

AB, is there a site out there where people trade Bruce bootlegs? I'd LOVE to get a boot of last Sat. in Denver--it was great!

Try Ebay. I got a lot of Aerosmith bootlegs from their concerts.

Patton, I tried eBay and the only Bruce/Denver boot I found was from his last appearance at Invesco (missed that one, too ). It might be a few weeks before anything surfaces, though.

Try googling "springsteen bootlegs" or tapes. There are prolly a lot of fans out there trading over the Net. I know there are a bunch of REM traders so I'm sure the same goes for Bruce.

EBay is a good source...but it takes about a month. There used to be a site called "Brucelegs" but it's closed (or rerouted)...Try "LuckyTown.com"...or google...
I saw the setlist- 26 songs! I get a lot of private mail from bootleg traders...if I find Denver I'll let ya know.

Sorry to bump up an old thread but bring up "Bruuuuuce" and you get my attention anyway. We tried to get through for the DC show on the current tour and did only to have the party on the other end come back and say, "Sorry, sold out." I think it is better to have not gotten through at all.
As for Bruce's more memorable concerts, the Chopper & I spent the evening with him on the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour at Hampton Coliseum. He was a terrific guy, most genuine and remembered our names as we left backstage by shouting, "Nancy & Wayne, nice to meet you drive safely back to Richmond!" If only we had a tape recorder that evening. We do have pictures and our signed backstage passes and at the tender ages of 24 and 26, we were genuinely awestruck. (And pretty much still are!)
Favorite songs: "4th of July in Asbury Park," "Badlands," (Let's roadhouse Steve!), "For You," "She's the One," "Out in the Streets....I can't do this. Too little time and this thread could go on forever.
What will forever stick in my craw? "The Rising" not being selected album of the year over Nora Jones, (who I do enjoy). Bruce put to music what no other artist IMO was able to do following 9/11. The compassion he demonstrated in his dark and yet hopeful lyrics will painfully remain forever a reflection of that day and the days that followed. Sometimes, I think we saw deeper into Bruce's soul which is truly a gift as he has shared glimpses over the years.
