Had a 1pm appointment to see an Ophthalmologist located in a large Medical Building. My cataracts need to be addressed. I parked the car in the pouring rain and headed to the building toward the entrance ramp. Unfortunately a car pulled up at the same time unloading a person who needed assistance. So I quickly decided to get out of the pouring rain I needed to step on the high yellow painted curb. My feet came out from under me. The poor guy unloading the passenger needing assistance was so upset I got hurt. He stayed with me for quite some time. PA values. Nurses checked on me immediately. They said for almost two minutes I looked alert but didn’t respond to their questions. They called 911 and I was taken to a trauma center. It was like a scene out of a movie. They put me in a neck brace and when arriving at ER at least a dozen people where there to work on me. Since I was wearing the neck brace they cut my overhead shirt off. All turned out well. My deep appreciation to all the staff at GVH Hospital that helped me. Such great professionals that treated me so well. I’m a little sore today.

Sorry to hear this, John, but glad that it wasn't too severe. Small potatoes, but I hope they didn't have to cut your Munson jersey. (I know, that's button down.)

This is a couple steps beyond heading into the infamous "blue tent" to be evaluated.
Glad you are OK John!

Sorry to hear about this, JohnM. Those painted curbs get notoriously slippery in wet weather.

But I'm glad that you are OK, John.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad to hear you are doing well. I hear many good things about the success of people that get cataract surgery. My mom said I I knew I was going to have perfect vision afterwards, I would have gotten it years ago.
We all need to be extra careful as we get older. Like classic cars, they can run for a long time: just baby them a bit.

So sorry, John. I truly hope just a couple of bumps and bruises is all you come away with.
I'm very afraid of falling myself. I'm very careful, but unpredictable challenges do crop up.
I'm seeing the eye doctor Monday. I have some real concerns.

Sorry to hear John. I hope and pray you recover from it. I avoid curbs completely because of trauma to my back and hip. People have taken me to restaurants and park at the front door. When I walk to a find a ramp they yell at me,"Where are you going?"

Sorry to see this, John. Hope you are feeling better. Maggie's had a few falls over the last few years - can be scary. Balance issues can crop up on you, so you need to be careful.

John, can you give us a health update? You've been posting regularly, so I assume (and hope) you're doing OK.

John, can you give us a health update? You've been posting regularly, so I assume (and hope) you're doing OK. I’m still pretty banged up. A lot of back pain when in bed. Slight headaches too. I took a mighty fall. Spent six hours today at Penn Medicine. Had a nuclear stress test and heart echocardiogram. They told me they saw abnormalities which I expected. Didn’t want to hear everything is ok because I want to get better. My health has been like a rollercoaster the last 2.5 years. Awaiting a call from my Cardiologist.

Yes, please take great care of yourself. The Alma Mater has a fabulous hospital, and I'm sure they are being very thorough and diligent.
Prayers for you in the Big House tomorrow.

Doctor informed me this morning I have another heart blockage. Awaiting the scheduler to call with a date for surgery that could occur as soon as next week. I knew something wasn’t right. Doctor told me my condition is reversible.
