I was interested in a minimalist backpack and looked at the products available at a Tumi store and nothing quite met my need. Granted, mytwocents is too frugal to shell out $575 for a backpack, but I like their products.
When I went to China I bought a bag from Bopai for about $30 (available in the USA from Amazon for $63). Met my needs perfectly.
I decided to write a review on Tumi’s site and carefully followed their guidelines by not mentioning Bopai’s name. I didn’t expect them to post it. To my surprise, they not only posted it, but sent me a nice email saying they would send my comments to their design group!
I’m impressed. If I wasn’t so frugal, I’d buy their product if they incorporate my suggestions. 😉

Expensive luggage and handbags are one of my triggers, I simply don't understand it.
I buy suitcases at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, they last a few years then I throw them out and buy a new one.
I do have a good minimalist backpack for day trips and to carry on planes. Zomake is the brand. Cheap, durable, and holds plenty more than you think it would.
A friend of mine who has some disposable income recently dropped over $2K on some fancy handbag for his wife. I can't believe he did that and I can't believe she asked for it. I have taken wonderful vacations for less than $2K. The bag is ridiculous and it's even more ridiculous how much his wife loves it. I'd like to take big dump in that bag!

Unfortunately my wife occasionally likes to buy expensive hand bags. She keeps each one carefully packed in the closet and still uses handbags that are 30 years old. On the positive side, she is very frugal with other things. I learned to be much more tolerant of things the second time around 😉

Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel.” — Yogi Berra I’m preparing for my trip to Seattle in April to help my daughter with her new baby. My backpack with have my Mac, Airpad, headphones with noise cancellation, clipboard w/pad and a power pack. I gladly help whenever I’m needed, but I think most of the time I’ll be just trying to entertain myself. Hopefully MLB.tv will work!
