Boone said he has a serious bone bruise on the pitch he fouled off Saturday.

He is quickly becoming the next stanton. Can't stay on the field and very inconsistent when he does.
My 2024 Yankee plan had him playing almost everyday and leading off. Up in smoke.

Stop, he fouled a ball off his right foot. Any right handed hitter doing the same would have suffered the same fate. Too soon to know if this a week injury or something longer.

He has played in more games than I thought, but it's more than fair to say that since 2020 DJ has been average at best. And he whiffs way more than he used to.

DJ's 2020 is so far in the rearview mirror now. This is what happens when you keep trying to get guys that other teams are willing to let go. The problem with DJ is that he is good when he is good, but at what point are you willing to pull the band-aid off. Knowing our history, we will drag it out for way too long, I am getting sick of having a couple pieces of the puzzle shy of a championship team. We keep blaming the injury BUG, maybe our next signing needs to be a good bug exterminator.

DJ LeMahieu (bone bruise in foot) isn’t ruling out being in the lineup for Opening Day. “I’ve had a good spring training. I’ve had plenty of at-bats. I’m pretty much ready.”

I would not call his spring training performance good. On a positive note, neither was 2019 and he had a great year

Just his stats

Stats mean nothing with so few- in game ABs. He could go three for three and his average would be over .300. Means nothing in ST.

If you watch the Boone interview you will hear he doesn’t look at Spring Training stats.

Yes, but light, pre Susyn AND Boone on today's game's radio broadcast. I was slightly surprised to hear Boone specifically say that they are being cautious "because it has to do with another foot injury." That's not actually a direct quote, just an approximation. He's reading my mind.

Good report today;
A good sign for the Yankees:
DJ LeMahieu taking grounders, moving around seemingly well.

Aaron Boone's update on DJ LeMahieu (bruised right foot):
“DJ is still not there. He did some more things today but is still pretty sore and dealing with it. He’s probably a little more of a long shot for Opening Day, but we’ll see. As days go off the calendar, it just depends on how he improves every day.”
