I’m asking a trivia question I don’t have an answer for.
Name a power hitter who has been able to recover after a year like Stanton had last year at age 35 or above.
Pujols had a great OPS at 42, but MANY bad years before that.

Giambi in 04 at 33 had a pretty down year then rebounded. There was other stuff going on though. Soriano also had a bad age 33 season then strung together some decent ones after.

Soriano is a good one. As you said, there was a lot going on with Giambi. A lot more pitchers than sluggers are successful doing that. Hopefully Stanton can join the small group

Beltre Bautista jd Martinez JD is close, but I’m kind of looking for a power hitter that adjusted/reinvented himself to resurrect his career. Kind of like Tom Seaver did as a pitcher
