Aaron Judge now has 17 career RBI in plate appearances that gave his team a lead in the 9th inning or later.
That's the most of any MLB player since 2018.

Clay Holmes this season:
9 IP 1 BB 6 K 0.00 ERA
Clay Holmes with the Yankees:
162.2 IP 48 BB 176 K 2.38 ERA
Not only has Holmes been outstanding this year but he's been amazing in general with the Yankees. Why people still complain about this guy is beyond me.

I definitely like the approach , seeing pitches.
Judge will mostly see a lot of 3-2 pitches. In fact yesterday a game where he went 0-4 with DP and K, I believe he went to 3-2 count at least twice or maybe three times.
In my opinion, the team, not Soto, Judge per se, but the entire lineup went away with the approach for most of the three games vs Jays, but that could be because Kikuchi was throwing strikes.

Friday #FunFact
Luis Gil has faced 61 batters and only 26 (42.6%) of those PA have resulted in a ball in play.
That's the lowest in-play rate of any pitcher this season (min. 50 batters faced). And no other pitcher in that group is below 50%.

Going back to the stat that the string is about, though this flies in the face of all baseball theory, is it remotely possible that teams with struggling hitters are prone to higher pitch counts reach those numbers because they're timid at the plate and afraid to swing?
I realize that this could only apply to 2 of the 4 batters listed. But these are the kind of thoughts that crop up when you're watching your team perform in very 2023-like fashion.

I believe yanks were hell bent to change their approach this season it’s obvious they’re not flailing away …. Soto’s approach seems contagious

Just curious what is clay’s contact vs swings and misses He pitches to contact. It doesn’t matter. He throws a whiffle ball like baseball. Just ask the batters.
