People freak out when we get shutout. I don’t like it, but it’s going to happen. Sometimes a pitcher is having an incredible day. Overall, the offense looks much improved over last year. I’d still like to see us quit leaving so many men on base, but overall they have looked a lot better.

I am forever grateful that Booned changed the lineup over the weekend.
It wasn’t going too well when Volpe and Gleyber switched. Then Judge and middle of the order was in a funk.
Then moved Gleyber down to 7th and has done wonders. Move Verdugo to clean up lengthens the lineup.

Anthony Rizzo this season
First 23 games: .227/.306/.284 (.590) in 98 PA w/ 2 2B, 1 HR, 8 RBI
Last 6 games: .458/.480/1.042 (1.522) in 25 PA w/ 2 2B, 4 HR, 7 RBI
Wells also heating up. 🔥

Yes, great to see production from Gleyber, Rizzo and the two catchers.

Another gem from our YES research crew about the value of having an OBP machine hitting in front of Judge: Judge has already driven in Soto six times this year. That’s more than he drove in any teammates last season (3 players tied with 5).

Austin Wells last 7 days:
AVG/.364/OBP/.533/SLG/.455/OPS/.988/
Not a huge sample size but his first hot streak of the season let's hope he hits a homer tonight

Wells has been hitting the ball really well of late and is finally getting some positive results. I am convinced he will be a solid contributor all year.

The o’s announcers had an interesting stat yesterday. The Yanks had hit into 35 double plays (that was before GC’s late dp) while the O’s had hit into 9. What a telling stat. I believe Judge might be close to leading the league in hitting into DPs. Stanton is probably up there with him.

I mean that’s bad. A big culprit . Of course Os having speed somewhat from top to bottom helps.
I also saw that Yanks rank bottom in bench Avg.

Doesnt help that Cabrera's carriage turned back in to a pumpkin, he hit .214 in April

Yankees offense is very inconsistent for the first month of the season. I hope it evens out.

Did I read somewhere that Oswaldo has 3 HRs at first pitch?

Pretty sure that’s correct.
