Manny singles in the winning run in the 10th. Good guys win, 8-7. Manny extends his hitting streak to 27. Call me when he gets to 55. Considering I wasn't comparing the two. . .

HUH?!?!? They won 95 games, tied for the division lead, and lost to the eventual champs. It would have been nice to win a game, but in the end, we ended up just where you guys did--out in the first round. When the red sox 2004 title gets glorified more than the Yankees three-peat..... I am quick to ask about title defense. When I see David Ortiz highlights (not updates from THAT DAY'S game....but highlights from a previous red sox victory) during a Yankees/ BLUE JAYS game..... and when my last memory of the red sox 2004 title team is Manny Ramirez holding up a sign calling out Derek 4-Ring First Ballot HOF'er Jeter.... I will ask about title defense as often as FOX, ESPN and co. mention the Yankees blowing a 3 game lead in the ALCS. The Red Sox hadn't won a World Series in 86 YEARS. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the better story is. From a Yankee fan's perspective, I guess I could see why you would feel that way. . . actually, that's not true. You've got the championships, and in a Yankee fan's self-absorbed world, you would think that would be enough. Who you really need to blame is the media. They're the ones who've "overblown" the miraculous comeback by the 2004 Red Sox, so it's really them you need to criticize, not RSN.

FOX, ESPN, and co. are the media. Nowhere in my post did I try to take anything away from boston's 2004 title. For the record: THE BETTER TEAM WON. When the Yankees win, it's "the best team money can buy".... when someone else wins, it's "a well deserved victory". The ENTIRE point of my post was to ask what in the world today's Yankees/Angels game has to do with FOX talking about the 2004 ALCS during the game. Is ANYONE willing to wager that either Aaron Boone or Bill Buckner were the topic of conversation in FOX's coverage of the red sox/Orioles game today?? There would be no point in such discussion..... as there was no point in FOX discussing the 2004 ALCS. Correct me if I'm wrong though..... if there is some connection between today's Jaret Wright/ Kelvim Escobar matchup and the 2004 ALCS, I'll eat my words. "The Red Sox hadn't won a World Series in 86 YEARS. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the better story is. " Niner...... what did that have to do with today's Yankees /Angels game?? You do get my point, don't you?? If we're talking great stories (which I wasn't)...... wouldn't the defending World Champion Chicago White Sox be a great story ?? Great story....yes. Did it have ANYTHING to do with today's game...... of course not. "so it's really them you need to criticize, not RSN." I mentioned my last memory of the 2004 season...... I mentioned FOX, ESPN, etc. ...... but did I MENTION RSN in my post??

Amen dg...we were not taking anything away from the 2004 red sox...we were just baffled when fox brought up the 2004 ALCS when there was NO CONNECTION to the game today...he was not blaming RSN, he was blaming the media.

Nailed it, 90. Today's game was an interesting one..... not exactly a blowout where announcers would have to search too hard for things to discuss. The Angels are 4 games out of 1st in the West.... well within striking distance of the A's..... the Yankees are in 1st place in the East...... and I believe there is a significant 5 game series starting next Friday in boston that could be discussed in great detail . C'mon, Niner....let's join together and gripe about FOX in general . I'm assuming that they showed the Dodgers game in your area late this afternoon...... and I fear that I will be listening to the Yankees/red sox game Saturday because FOX Kansas will show the "keep 'em on the edge of their seats" Cardinals/Cubs game next Saturday .

I won't apologize for being human, but I will apologize for not reading carefully. I guess I shouldn't assume that you and others are just out to slam RSN. Again, my bad.

Did they end up showing the Dodgers game in your area on FOX today?? If they only showed the dog grooming/infomercial cr#p this afternoon, they've sunk to new depths.

Call me when he gets to 55. Considering I wasn't comparing the two. . . Didn't say you were. That's my first thought when any batter approaches 30 straight.
