Just so you know: Live drafts at a good time are hard to get at Yahoo. I'd love to get a draft on a Saturday night if you can get it.

If you guys want I will set up a Fantasy Board for you to talk things out. Didn't we have a BTB league in Smallworld a few years ago?

I'd love to, but I think I'm going to have too much going on in the spring and at least early summer to put in the necessary time. I know the feeling David I couldn't give it my total attention.

Yeah Phil...we did a league a long time ago. That Smallworld setup was pretty cool. But they have since sold out to The Sporting News who changed it from free to pay league. Smallworld was one of the "salary cap" models. Yahoo is set with rosters, trades, waivers and FA's. I like playing either way.

Ok, guys. Any advice for a worse than novice roto player. I realize I'm going to get my butt handed to me, but I'd like to be at least a little competitive. Any good web sites out there? I heard that 'fresh meat' comment, too! The draft will be the biggest thing Rem. The more time you spend on it, the better it is likely to be. If it's a live draft, have all your notes and player rankings at your finger tips in an organized manner. I used to keep a separate folder for each position. There is usually a time limit to make your pick when your turn comes up. They'll need to let you know if the draft will be AL/NL or AL only. If it's not live, set your rankings by position as best you can with a wary eye on possible sleepers. You know the players everybody will be after so be creative. Also, one thing I always considered when setting my rankings was not just the players, but the lineup around them. For example, Johnny Damon is sure to be good for plenty of runs scored with the support he has behind him. A guy like Crawford will do wonders for your stolen base number, but will probably lack in the runs scored department. Check player bio's closely. A guy like Liriano might be ranked highly but can he stay healthy. Getting a premium guy that goes on the 60 day DL isn't going to help much. Just ask the guys that drafted Kerry Wood and Mark Prior with premium picks in years past. Fantasy player rankings can be found just about anywhere on the net for free, but use these as your yardstick only. Your knowledge and research, coupled with innovative thinking, should be enough to fine tune your draft to your specifications. During the season, keep a close eye on the waiver wire, and Summer call ups. The Cubs called up Kerry Wood one year, I picked him up right away and my strikeout totals began to soar. Sleepers like this are out there more than you think. You just have to know when to pull the trigger. Use your baseball instincts. Trades are a lot of fun, but be careful. You're going to be up against some pretty sharp operators. Don't let yourself get talked into a trade. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Good luck with it. If Phil sets up the board for this match, I will be watching with great interest when time allows.

Yea make sure you do the draft at the end of March, because of injuries in spring training and stuff. Cbs sportsline isnt a 130$ fee, 90. Its free.

Current roster(10): 1)me 2)Jimbue 3)AB 4)Skinny 5)J-rem 6)Figon 7)Frankie 8)Kanst 9)D23 10)True2theblue 90, thanks for taking care of this. I doubt I do well in this since I have a hard time keeping up after things daily. But it should be fun! Here are the Pre-Season odds: 1 - Jmbue, 2-1: Currently playing Winter ball, unbeaten at Strat o and gets himself a head start. 2 - Skinnyhead 2-1: A longtime veteran and perhaps the best GM we have around in Fantasy League. 3 - Kanst 3-1: A stat wizard and always on top of his game. Look for him to be consistant throughout the season. 4 - 90, 4-1: Look for 90 to heat up in the summer when school is out. He's a commish and he can do anything. Don't let the "rookie" fool you! 5- Figon 5-1: Dangerous. Under the radar. Don't get your eyes off of him. 6- TrueBlue, 7-1: Has the spirit, a "never-say-die" attitude will help. 7 - J-Rem, 10-1: A "rookie" but could be a Derek Jeter type man, always deliever. 8- Frankie, 15-1: The after Bachelor Party effects will take toll on a long grinding season. Plus, he'll be on a honeymoon pretty much for the entire season. When he is going to find the time : ) 9 - D23, 20-1: A rebuilding year and doesn't like to play many veterans. Perhaps may have the youngest team in the league 10 - AB, 25-1: The whiskey will be talking throughout the summer. A Clever GM when he's on but look for the "Boss" to make the strangest moves. Look for him to have a Red Sox guy on the roster. Good Luck Folks! We're in for some trash talking throughout the summer!!!
