Baltimore and Toronto lost today. The O's seem to be coming back to earth, somewhat. Lopez had another mediocre outing and their offense is stumbling some. If they do go into a funk, it will be interesting to see how they respond.

Yup, I watched part of the O's game. Picked up a half game without even taking the field.
I'll take it.

Glad you got to see some of it, goo. It wasn't broadcast down here.
Getting O's and Nats games on the tube is going to be messy. The deal between MLB and the O's on a regional network (MASN - mostly owned by the O's, pays a relatively paltry rights fee to the Nats) is not sitting well with Comcast, which has the broadcast rights for the O's through next year (I believe). Comcast is not showing MASN broadcasts of the Nats' games, out of spite. They've sued the O's over MASN, claiming they have a right of first refusal once their contract with the O's is up (I'd think whether or not that's true would be pretty clear in the contract). Meanwhile, many O's games are now not being shown on Comcast's DC-area outlets, but they're still not showing up on Extra Innings, since this is supposedly the "home" area for the O's.
Very annoying.

I feel your pain. I'm being blacked out on a record number of YES broadcasts this year, and DirecTV can give me no explanation except to say it's not them, but MLB doing the blacking out. MLB gives no reason nor notice for the blackouts. I saw the first and last games of the set against Tampa, but was blacked out in the middle. Every game in Seattle was blacked out. Again, no reason given by MLB. I still get the games on Extra Innings, but it's usually the bad guys announcing crew. Sorry, but Ron Fairly in Seattle does nothing for me. And this UPN9 Friday night crap is starting to tick me off big time too.

Is UPN9 doing every Fri. night game? That's going to be a major annoyance if true. That Seattle announcing crew (including Fairly) is pretty dismal. But, you can always turn down the sound. ;D

Soory I can't give you a certain answer on UPN9, but it's being hyped like it's the full season guys.
On another sobering on-field note, did you see that Toronto lost more than a game yesterday? Corey Koskie went on the 15-day DL after fracturing his hand sliding. I think any chance that team has hinges big time on offensive output from Koskie, Hillenbrand, and Wells. No word yet on how long Koskie will sit.
YANKEE BASEBALL!!!
