Why does anyone think that Corbin would help us? Overall, he has about a .500 career record and a league-average ERA. And he's a FA after the season, so he's not "controllable." I could see going after him if you were desperate for another starter, but it doesn't make sense to trade a top prospect for him when you already have a strong rotation. He looks to me like Jaime Garcia II.

Corbin is 5th on that list for me. Unless he can be 6th.

drives me crazy this time of year when small market teams peddle small market arms for max price...Yankees have a dozen guys like Corbin in the minor leagues
...and its always justified as "he young and controllable". so what??? that's like saying I wanna buy a Yugo- it sucks but I can own it!!!!!
all this contract mumble jumble and salary tax calisthenics and AAV's...wtf? how did that crap become part of the fan lexicon? just enjoy the game and forget about what the left fielder makes, after taxes...

I refuse to talk about player money and contracts. Except for the # of years. You’re right, AB. To listen to “Manny from Astoria” call in and talk about how many millions of dollars a team should pay a player makes me laugh.

Do the Yankees have someone like Corbin, absolutely. But if it can Involve Ells with the possibility to save $ even if we eat most of his contract and a mid tier prospect, I’d do it even if Corbin is a 5th or 6th guy.

Corbin is a JAG, for sure. But Cole hasn't shown he's much better, and would cost more in terms of prospects. Fulmer's the best of that list, but would be way too costly in talent. Can't see the Rays trading Archer unless blown away by an offer (too pricey). Cobb would be just $$$$. Sign Cobb and be done with it.

save money???....yanks will be eating most of that contract anyway....ellsbury who i really wanted when we got him is an all about me type guy....zip for personality ......only way this guy goes is if he gets tired of sitting on bench.....these no trade clauses r the dumbest things ever written into contracts......it should be enough that the money owed is enuf to scare off the buyer......my guess is he'll caddy for the outfielders or yanks just take his train pass and tell him to hit the road.....

While there are certainly risks involved with Cole, but as much as AB may not want to hear, Cole is “young and controllable” for at least 2 years. Corbels n is due to be a FA after the 2018 season.
With CC, I say we keep Frazier and wai until July to see where we stand.

I don't care about Ellsbury's salary, but he's wasting a roster spot. Even if they have to eat all his $$$$, he needs to go. If that means taking on a JAG like Corbin, I'd be okay with it.

Cole isn't a JAG...he's a legit guy with legit power stuff and worth the gamble to acquire...he's not a stud, but he could be-- is it worth losing clint frazier to see if it happens? I say no, but I admit its worth seeing...
andujar--cmon boys, stop with this guy already. the Yankees are going the Machado route in 10.5 months, so...had Toddfather for a year and then Manny
Corbin is a JAG and will always be a JAG
