Look at it this way. I LOVED 1998, but come playoff time, ALL the pressure was in Yanks to win it all. Tribe almost stopped us. Enjoy the agita, Fenway faithful.

I talk to a lot of Sox fans. They are already sweating. They don't appear to be enjoying this, enjoyment is not part of their DNA. "Sale is gonna tire, we can't trust Price, the pen will crack, someone big is going to get injured, our park is going to get condemned, etc."

A WC game against either of them would be scary.

A WC game against either of them would be scary. WC games are scary. Period. They are not good for my health (win or lose) and I'm anticipating another round of it this year. I'm trying to get ahead of it his year and prepare accordingly -- mentally, physically and emotionally.

A WC game against either of them would be scary. Do you think any team would feel comfortable coming in to play a WC game at Yankee Stadium?

Do you think any team would feel comfortable coming in to play a WC game at Yankee Stadium? Only if we were starting Sonny Gray. Not a plausible scenario.
It's like YIB said - there's nothing about a WC game that isn't scary, no matter the opponent or venue. Any elimination game, for that matter. That's the reason to win the division. But Yanks have nothing to be ashamed of for their regular season -- currently on a pace to win 102. It's just that Boston is having their '98 this year ... so far. 1/4 season to go.

Hating that they are scaring even us, but loving that the A's are burning overconfident Houston.
I knew they'd trash Keuchel.
Kris Davis is one scary mf'er.

I'm glad for Ohtani that the Halos are a .500 team and in 4th place in their division. Sorry, I shouldn't be that way.

I had a revelation last night. The Sox will falter at some point and it will fall squarely on the shoulders of........Betts. Mookie Betts. Why? To continue to the historic trend ---- Babe, Bucky, Buckner, Boone & soon to be BETTS.
