Shouldn't this be in "OFf Topic"...just saying? imo it should be in here, like the NBA thread, keeping other ongoing sports threads in one forum, and the forum heading mentions college sports.

Not expecting another great season for U-Va like last. Disappointed after that horrific loss to UMBC.

By John Canzano The Oregonian/OregonLive I'm not sure how much United States District Court scuttlebutt you're interested in hearing these days, but if the University of Oregon is wise, it will summon a staffer to Manhattan Thursday to hear the testimony. Because listed as the clean-up hitter on the potential witness list is "Brian Bowen Senior." And those who have been in court believe the father of the recruit at the center of the NCAA Basketball scandal has the potential to blow this thing wide open. Bowen's son, Brian Jr., committed to Louisville after receiving a payment everyone agrees was $100,000. That number, it's been offered in court, was negotiated after Oregon made an "astronomical" offer for Brian Jr.'s services. "Oregon, a Nike school, offered [Bowen] an astronomical amount of money if he'd go to Oregon," Jim Gatto's defense attorney, Casey Donnelly said on Tuesday in court. www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/john_canzano/index.ssf/2018/10/canzano_100000_question_is_wha.html#incart_2box

I wish we had a college team to root for.

I wish we had a college team to root for. NYU still have a hoops team? They had their day once.

There's plenty to root for but none that have any chance of a national championship....st John's will always hold a special place in my heart thanks to the Mullins years....but that's a long time ago....

Irony - Penn opens next week at George Mason - a 15 minute drive for me - and I will be unable to attend.

Quakers are off to a wonderful start. Victories over Villanova and Miami, and just beat the New Mexico Lobos at The Pit in Albuquerque. So happy I can see most games on ESPN+.
Wahoos off to a splendid start, too, but the ACC games will be quite rugged.
