I hated Stanton and his contract but at least for now he has won me over. Stayed healthy and playing the field.Hold our breaths for 7 more years.

Thru 145 games Judge 34 HR 84 RBI, "on pace" for 38 HR 94 RBI Stanton 28 HR 78 RBI, "on pace" for 31 HR 87 RBI Alas, Ohtani wins the MVP (which I think is a joke) but Judge should be Ohtani having a great year, but when the team does not make the playoffs, is he really an MVP? That is where the Hank Aaron award comes in. Then again, I would not be surprised if they give Ohtani all 3 awards...Hank Aaron, Cy Young and MVP, just because. Agreed. He is having a historic year, literally once in history kind of stuff. But what's the value in a player who's team is having its 6th straight losing season, and hasnt made playoffs in 8?

You could also make a case for Salvador Perez. He is so good. But Ohtani deserves to win even if his team has long been out of the chase.

Vlad Jr is the best hitter in baseball this year...and plays EVERYDAY.....as the leader for a winning team. He should get a lot of MVP votes.
Question --- what the he!! is up with the Angels? How can you have Mike Trout for a decade and now Ohtani, yet never even threaten to make the playoffs? Their ownership should be ashamed of themselves.

Vlad should be the favorite..... You would think so but, seriously, who is willing to bet against Ohtani. BBWA probably had their ballots filled out by June -- all Ohtani had to do was not go down for the season. Remember, we're talking about a group that gave Raffy a Gold Glove as a DH. Putz Central, those guys.

Judge is MVP in my opinion. Without him, the team is .500 at best. Makes plays in field, plays CF if needed, stealing bases. Not the shiniest stats, and while Guerrero may win triple crown Bichette and Hernandez having monster years too. Heck, could argue that Robbie Ray is more of a team MVP...
Lets get 100 RBI, needs less than 1 a game....

Pleased to be able to say I got to watch vlad several times when he was a lowly AA Manchester Nh fishercat. He made the stadium look very small.

What was I thinking?!? Gimme a friggin break. That is just an idiotic reply. We have come to expect much better from you.

The oddity of Ohtani (pitcher/DH) is why he will get votes. It could be argued that as a DH, he only plays half the game. Statistically, his overall offense has fallen behind Guerrero and Judge AND his team is not close to post-season. It is like he is racking up points in the NBA during garbage time.
Both Guerrero and Judge are absolutely carrying their teams in the WC chase and statistically, G is outpacing Judge, including in WAR. Judge is ahead of him only in SBs !! Judge plays a more taxing position but G is involved in a majority of plays during a game. While it is nice to have a Yankee win the award, between the two, I would have to say G for MVP.
Meanwhile, the top team in AL the last two years will not have a Cy Young or MVP winner.......remind you of any other team ?? ...(Yanks 1996-2000)
