The one year Little Lefty played Little League, his team was the A's, and he was randomly assigned #7. He asked me who that was on the Oakland A's, and I told him it was Scott Brosius. Needless to say, he became a big Brosius fan, and when Scotty was traded to the Yanks shortly thereafter, Paul and I were both ecstatic. And when he became a super hero for the Bombers, we enjoyed it all the more.

Sorry, but Scott Brosius played four seasons with the Yankees(1998-2001) but he only won 3 WS with them. In 2001 they lost WS to the Arizona. He played for the Oakland earlier(1991-1997) - without WS appearance

I read that also but thought I would just take a chance and give his name for an answer. I thought perhaps I had read it wrong but was too lazy to go back and check.
