Should be a good show, DYF. Pity the vast majority of us won't be able to see it without taking out a second mortgage.

I don't know about this one. I care to remember the Stones from 20 years ago that I still listen to all the time. I am sure they will be entertaining but hey, age catches up with you and I gotta question the music quality at this stage of the game. If I am gonna shell out mucho denaro to sit in that cramped ballpark I want to hear some good live music! I think the cheap seats are $65+ and the average seats are well over $100. Bruce was great in Fenway but I pass on the Stones at this stage of the game.

I'm hoping the missus and I can come out for it--regretted that we couldn't get to Springsteen. It'll be interesting to see how badly they gouge season ticket holders on this one.

YI, Don't underestimate the Stones, even at their ages. We saw them about 4 years ago, and they were still awesome. Mick may be doing some performance-enhancing drugs, but he still has alot of energy out on stage.'
I still preferred Springsteen's show, but then, I prefer the Boss to the Stones in general.

I certainly could be wrong, but I'd be shocked if this isn't the last tour that includes 64 year old Charlie Watts. I mean, it's very surprising to me he signed on for this one considering he recently battled throat cancer, and from all accounts generally isn't that fond of touring anyway. Mick is ageless, a long time fitness buff, and will tour forever...Keef, well, he's thankfully somehow avoided throat/lung cancer, and hopefully the cancer sticks never catch up to him. And I would bet they can still bring it, mainly because Mick wouldn't be out there if he thought otherwise.

Where do they set up the stage at Fenway? While I feel it will be a great show, I was never one to be in favor of shows during the season.

"Where do they set up the stage at Fenway? While I feel it will be a great show, I was never one to be in favor of shows during the season. "
For Springsteen the stage was against the CF wall...the IF was roped off. Bruce played two nights- the first night I was in left-field- good seat- in order to get to my seat I walked over the bullpen's on a wooden bridge that was constructed. The sound isn't as good on the field as it bounces off the glass on the 406 Club and distorts it a bit.
The second night I was right behind the visitors dugout- and for once I was thankful the seat faced CF and NOT Homeplate!!!!!!! The sound was much better.
The second night was one of the best setlists on the tour- and an incredible performance- a top 5 Springsteen show of all-time...and THAT is saying something- "Further on Up The Road" almost knocked the green monster over.
We tail-gated in a lot in right field before the second show and you could hear the soundcheck crystal clear (He was working on "Frankie" over and over running the band through it and even "singing" some of the instrumental parts for either Clarence or Danny- he debuted it later in the show)- if you're going to the Stones and are a fan get there early for the soundcheck- it's cool.
I'll pass- just like I don't go to see the Senior Tour in golf- I don't wanna see my Grandpa sing "Sympathy for the Devil."
