Great story, DYF!! Thanks for sharing. It is very sad that these reunions are getting smaller and smaller as the years go by. These guys are true heroes. It it weren't for them, we would probably be speaking German right now.

That is a great story. My only beef with it is the idea that the P-47 isn't well known. Maybe I'm too much of a WWII and aviation buff, but it's a very well known plane, IMO.
As for what we'd be speaking if not for those guys, my family probably wouldn't have survived.

It really is a shame, my dad was in the Fighting 69th in WW II. It seems he has more war buddies up there than he has down here now. He had nightmares about the war all his life. The all fought for our Freedom and should be commended.
