Went 6 innings with 5Ks. Can't remember the last time the Yanks won a 1-0 ST game. Austin Wells was the closest regular to make the trip. Arlodis Chapman came into the game in the 5th for the Pirates, issued a couple of walks but after a dugout visit settled down to get out of the inning. He did not seem that interested in the game. Bradenton is not one of my favorite stadiums, for starters, the sandwich shop outside the stadium is no more. The bartenders were grumpy, their peanuts are $1 more than anywhere; and they made the worst Gin and Tonic we had during this ST Trip. They have huge metal pillars in the higher sections that block view of part of the field. They use a weird format on the scoreboard - when the Pirates are up, they turn their name in the lineup yellow, which can be seen, and highlight the player on the side. For the Yankees, they did the highlight also, but turned the name in the lineup to a blue color that was not readable. They also positioned a camera in front of the B/S/O display, so the counts were partially blocked. We decided to go to the Riverhouse Waterfront restaurant at the end of the bridge on the way back. It was a beautiful day with a cool breeze - there were over a dozen tables open outside but were told that they were reserved over the next two hours. When we left about 90 min later, most of those tables were still open !! That area (Palmettto) is very well maintained and nice to walk around. Last game tomorrow

When I went to Italy my daughter took us to a Sicilian restaurant in Rome. It was the best food I ever had. The last night we were in Italy I tried to book a table there. They said sorry they’re all booked. In the USA I often found if I went to a restaurant when they first opened if I promised to leave after one hour. We went to the restaurant as soon as they opened at 6:30 pm. We asked if we could get a table and they said sorry, they’re all booked. There wasn’t a single customer.
We found a restaurant within view of the restaurant. It turned out to be very good, but no one showed up at the other restaurant till 7:30 and it wasn’t full till 8 pm. I later learned that in Italy they expect people to occupy the tables for the entire evening. That may be the same thing at Riverside.

Same experience when I went there a couple years ago. Crazy how you had to flag someone down to get a check most of the time, otherwise they'd let you sit there all night. Definitely no urgency. Guess that's what happens when you're not working for just tips.
