Don’t tell me your being critical of Boones use of pen on march 30 th ….. please don’t tell me that .. please …. First off they won both games secondly it’s team strength thirdly u wanna get as many guys involved to begin season … .. every team is using the pen tell me the starters that go 6-7 today Ion consistent basis…. I’ll wait …..this is 2024 baseball yanks got arms galore in that pen let’s see who matches our pen …. It’s 2 games but if our guys exhibit the patience at the plate we’ve seen here with or without Cole we’ll be a nightmare for league …. Ab after ab were incredible….. prior teams would have lost both these games if Houston don’t have brain lock but those errors are caused by us making contact and them hurrying which speaks to what we’re doing at plate ….. prior teams woulda k 30 x in 2 games …. Contact is huge in today’s game … high obp and fewer k’s are who stands in October

It will be a challenge managing the bullpen since it is unlikely to many starting pitcher will go deep into the game and there’s 7 games straight

No problem. I think managing the bullpen is one of his best skills

Yankees have feasted off the Astros bullpen through the first three games, scoring 13 of their 17 runs against relievers.

Best thing and possibly the only thing this series has accomplished is that it has to give the yanks some confidence knowing they could beat them which we haven’t done for 7 years …. The fact they trailed in every game and came back to win is something they haven’t done vs anyone but especially Houston who we’ve basically laid down when we get behind …. Confidence is paramount in sports

What is impressing me is that we have guys on base all the time! We could have scored an additional 5 or 6 runs per game if we had gotten a couple of singles or fly balls instead of inning ending double plays. This team is not relying on the long ball....although it is nice to see one every once in a while.

Hamilton had a Broadway-worthy outing last night, another Cashman nugget.
Bravo!

Hamilton had a Broadway-worthy outing last night, another Cashman nugget. Bravo! I really like the Hamilton and Bolmes acquisitions, though sometimes I have trouble watching Holmes when he loses the strike zone

Glad Hamilton went two great innings in G3 with Holmes finishing it in the 9th. At least for one game, it reminded me a bit of 1996.

I enjoyed reading the threads on a Pirates fan site after the Yankees traded for Holmes. Some were sad to see him go, but many made comments saying his stuff was so good, that no one knew where it was going to go, including him.

Yankees have the only bullpen in baseball that hasn't allowed a run this season
They pitched 15.1 scoreless innings in the four-game sweep of Houston.

Who the heck schedule 7 straight games opening the season?
When I initial saw the schedule for the first 7 and 10 games, this could have gone either very bad or good enough to split or win series.
But starting off 4 straight to the hated Astros, that is a good start so far…
And this iis with Judge just hitting under .200 and only 1 Rbi in the series. Good teams pick up each other. Great ABs.

Exactly right D23. Last year they are lucky to win 1 or 2 with judge hitting like that. Can’t wait for him to get hot though, especially if others are hot too at the same time

Loiasiga needs to be more effective.

Loiasiga needs to be more effective. Him and Holmes both scare me a little. Both can be lights out when they are on, hope that's what we see all season.

Loiasiga needs to be more effective. For sure, currently his whip is at an astronomical 2.67!!

If it wasn’t for the defense, Holmes would not be having a 0.00 ERA. Not complaining but boy that was some 9th inning with some defense gems and key outs . Astro fans have to be so ticked off, with Alvarez missing a HR to deep CF by 5 feet, and Berti robbing a for sure double and possibly a game winner and Verdugo with a sliding catch.

I was really surprised watching the bottom of the 9th. Typically Holmes is unhittable but sometimes has control problems. Not the case yesterday. Looked like batting practice
