They are off the a 3-0 start. The number draft pick for 2023 will probably come up later this year (Paul Skenes).

l've liked them, at least since visiting lovely PNC Park several years ago. Didn't like them playing hard ball with us over potentially trading Reynolds here. Lot of good young players.
OTOH, they are playing the Marlins, who are down 4 starting pitchers to start the year.

I hope so but if I remember correctly, they started out that way last year but then later not so good? Tied for fourth place at the end.

I was going to start a new thread, but figured I’d just add it here: Don’t look now but tigers are on pace to win 162 games, smashing the old record!

Dutch is correct: The Buccos started the 2023 season with cannons a-blazing as well.
2024 may be different, though.
Some needed veterans were brought in. Not like Rowdy Tellez is Lou Gehrig or anything, but having some veteran talent was required. We'll see what Chapman, German and Martin Perez can do to steady the Pirate ship.
Reynolds is nice player. Suwinski does a good job in CF and he's got power. The left side of the IF is very strong, with Hayes at 3B and Cruz at SS for a full season. (remember he missed nearly all of 2023). Bednar is a very good closer.
Really looking forward to a re-match of the '60 series, but with a much different result of course!
