It’s a tough stretch, but just go play ball! I really enjoyed the opening series in Houston. A 4 game sweep is incredible. Saw some really good things and the offense worked counts and wore pitchers down like the dynasty days. Happy with being 4-0, but there’s a long way to go. As Dan would say, “Chaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggeeeeee!”

the schedule is kinda weird.
We play the BlueJays 6 times this month, but don't see the Red Sox until mid-June.

Glad one west coast swing is close to being crossed off. 9 games on the May-June cusp and then 6 more in the final road trip of the regular season

Hopefully Houston will beat up on Toronto’s bullpen to soften them up for the Yankees. One of the few times I’ll root for the Astros

i love the yankees playing on the road the first seven games and i’d even extend it to 10 if possible. northeast baseball in late march/early april is often awful weather leading to delays, cancellations and injuries. load up on indoor and warm weather baseball and go home when spring has arrived.
6-12 inches in my nh town tomorrow. wtf!

I traded in my tix for tomorrow night's Nats game vs. Pittsburgh due to predicted heavy storms. I got tix to see the Cheatstros instead.

It's probably mostly a fear that I shouldn't get giddy, but I find it weird we're facing the dreadful Marlins following the Blue Jays. I don't know how much of their trouble has to do with injured starting pitchers, but they seem geared for an epic bad season start. I will certainly be wanting to sweep them. Weirdly, that series is shaping up to be an early season highlight, as we may get to experience an 80% eclipse during the Monday game, and my brother and his fellow Parkinson's-affected gang sing the National Anthem on Wednesday.
Throw into the mix that I have been decidedly under the weather for 10 days or so, but not that I have let it affect my schedule. I have missed no work, and did work the election yesterday. Now I'm off 4 days for a 3-day baseball weekend during which I'll have to be bundled up. Don't let reports of 55 to 60 degrees fool you. I will freeze this weekend, and then early next week. I'm kinda chapped that FOX is making us play at night on Saturday. The Yankees play day games on Saturdays, unless ...

An odd schedule indeed.
Yankin mentioning starting on the road in warmer climate or domed stadiums. I don’t understand why they don’t do it more often throughout all teams. I mean I don’t care about the Mets but they had some pretty bad conditions and glad it wasn’t us. IMO they should avoid playing games in NY, Boston, Minny, Milwaukee, etc until week 2. Baltimore and Washington is borderline. It was a ok opening day in Baltimore but crappy vs KC. Why not take advantage of domed stadiums and warmer climate first as home games… imo it was stupid to have Jays and Rays played openor where both could have open at home the first week. Ok I am done ranting!!!

Agree with you, Dave. Just like NFL should schedule home games for teams like Bill, Patriots, Cincy for September and Miami and Tampa Bay for December. But they don't seem to do that.

I have been saying this for years. For the first week games could be played in Miami, Tampa, Houston, Texas, Arizona, LA, Anaheim, Toronto, Seattle, or any other warm weather or domed stadium. It's not fair for the palyers who could get hurt playing in the cold and the fans who pay money to freeze. Yesterday it looked like 100 people were left in Baltimore after a long delay and then playing in the cold rain. It also is a scheduling issue in that some teams don't meet again in the same stadium again this season. If (bad example) there was a cold rainy day in AZ yesterday, the Yanks would have to fly back for a single game or they would play the makeup in NY, if AZ comes to NY later.

Teams don’t want to start on the road in consecutive seasons. You don’t always get what you want…
