I was lying in bed when Cousins pitched, but missed it. The 4 K's are impressive, but not the home run. Off topic a bit, I guess, but I've been pretty disappointed in Victor Gonzalez as well.
I'm on record as being a little confused with the whirlwind of recent pitching moves. I was happy with Ferguson today, and overall have liked his work more than that of Gonzalez. But I am concerned with the state of our lefthanded relief.
I've bounced around a little with that, but in response to the post, isn't it possible that now that we have finally reached a day off that the pen is OK going forward, at least for a couple of days? Stroman currently seems the lone solid candidate as a starter that can give more than 5 innings, but if he does, shouldn't we be in pretty good shape come Saturday? Or is there some recently acquired hurler that I'm forgetting that we need to see work from?

I don’t get the pitching merry go round either. Starters have actually given decent length for the first week of the season

Don’t we usually carry an extra arm in the beginning of the season with a lot of games up front?
With today s off day, everyone should be available tomorrow.

My fellow Quaker Jake Cousins pitched pretty well, except for that one pitch to Christian Walker ("Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"). I hope Cousins will get more opportunities.
I felt Boonie should have let Loaisiga close out the the last game at AZ - he had pitched such a solid ninth inning. I would have given him the tenth, also. Holmes was victimized, however by Volpe's error and Carroll's flukey infield hit which tied the game. Great win for the Bombers.

Loaisiga isn’t built up enough at this point to toss two innings imho.
