I hate this as much as any fan would. But OTOH, it might be really cool to see a major league game there. How far is Sacramento from San Francisco, if anyone with actual knowledge wants to save lazy me from looking it up?

It's about 100 miles, Knux.
Friar has a dear cousin who lives there. He relocated from the Bay Area just after Friar left there to return to Pittsburgh. We used to take the BART from SF to A's games. This was before "The House that Bonds built" and the Giants played in Candlestick. At that time, (pre-1998), Oakland Coliseum was a much preferred place to see a game. They had a much better team, the ballbark was comfortable, it was easy to get to via mass-transit, and the weather was always about 20 degrees warmer.
It really sucks to see the A's situation. Like watching a burning clown-car-crash in slo-mo. Gotta do the Beyonce and make some lemonade.

If they play the Red Sox on a weekend in 2025, I’ll likely be taking a road trip.

What’s the record for the most relocations
Las Vegas Sacramento Oakland Athletics (1968–?) Kansas City Athletics (1955–1967) Philadelphia Athletics (1901–1954)
Las Vegas doesn’t seem like the A’s kind of town.

Vegas going to be a gold mine for them. But a different crowd than the one that made them great. I was a Charlie fan

They'll settle in. Vegas has embraced pro sports. But it'll be a different crowd.

Wish more bands would play shows here but it has gotten better.
