Relievers will rule the game ….. teams will eventually have no starters all relievers …. They get paid less and it’s tougher on hitters to face 6 different guys throwing bb’s

That sounds very plausible. I could still see how the pitch clock could be a factor.

Dr. James Andrews on the increase in injuries in pitchers in recent years: "I started following the injury patterns and injury rates in the year 2000", Andrews says. "Back in those days, I did about eight or nine Tommy Johns per year in high school aged and younger. The large majority of Tommy Johns were at the Major League level, tiene the Minor League level, tiene the college level and then just a handful or high school kids. "In today's situation, the whole thing is flip-flopped. The largest number is youth baseball. They've surpassed what's being done in the Major Leagues. That's a terrible situation." Andrews says the obsession with velocity and spin at the youth level is having a devastating impact on arms and the game itself. "These kids are throwing 90 mph their junior year of high school", he says. "The ligament itself can't withstand that kind of force. We've learned in our research lab that baseball is a development sport. The Tommy John ligament matures at about age 26. In high school, the red line where the forces go beyond the tensile properties of the ligament is about 80 mph".

Would the game of baseball ever consider changing the rules so that a pitcher could throw underhand, soft-ball style?
It's a much more natural motion.

Houston Astros ace Framber Valdez was scratched from today’s start with elbow soreness. He will be evaluated by doctors to determine the severity of the injury.

This is from a physical therapy sire
“ Discomfort described as soreness that spreads around the entire shoulder, and/or in muscles such as the biceps, triceps and forearm is to be expected. Oftentimes, pitchers will experience discomfort in their arm a day or two after throwing in a game.
To assist with the pain, athletes can consult their athletic trainer or physician. Oftentimes ice or over-the-counter anti-inflammatories are the recommendation. That said, the pain should subside on its own and discomfort should not be present for the pitcher’s next outing. ”
Do you think some pitchers pitch when they are still feeling discomfort?

Justin Verlander on the rash of pitcher injuries:
"...I think the game has changed a lot, it would be easiest to blame the pitch clock, in reality everything has a little bit of influence, the biggest thing is the style of pitching has changed so much, everyone is throwing as hard as they possibly can and spinning the ball as hard as they possibly can...it's a double-edged sword...I don't have all the answers...when the balls started to change back in 2016 and started flying out...it changed how I had to approach pitching...I want(ed) swing and miss...I don't how we rewind the clock...the trickle-down permeates all the way to little league...I just hope that we don't wait too long...it's a pandemic and it's going to take years to work itself out..."

Dr Andrews quotes
"You should not be throwing a Cruve until you are at shaving age"
When he was asked when you heard a pitcher going to Driveline to develop a new pitch
Dr Andrews begins to laugh "They need a deep talking too"
