Awesome JohnM. I am still Listening to this podcast!
Agree with Kay, Sterling voice hasn’t changed in 36 years with Yankees.

From the pregame, I totally believe he doesn't want to "go to work" anymore. I thought we'd get more once he reduced his road work, but I understand his wanting to stay home, put his feet up, and watch the game.
Judge made me smile when he confessed that whenever they get new players the guys try to guess how John would call their home runs.

Congrats to John Sterling on an amazing career. I’ve had the pleasure of listening to and working with John for decades. He is a major part of Yankee history and will be greatly missed.

So who do you feel is the best Yankee announcer ever? I think Rizzuto was, but it could be my age.

Loved his broadcasts. I often used the WFAN audio on MLB.tv as I watched the games just to hear John. I’m certainly going to miss him and he belongs not just in Monument Park, but Cooperstown IMO.

Seems like just yesterday you were calling our World Series in the 90s. It’s been a pleasure working beside you in the booth…John Sterling, you will be missed! You will always be the voice of the Yankees to me!

What a shocker!
The timing of it is just...weird.
Friar's first thought was maybe he pulled a 'Jimmy The Greek', or some salacious information was released.
This really does sound like he's just ready to be done, and if that's all there is to it, then good for him.
Sterling will be missed, for sure. His way out-of-fashion stylings were a bit much for some of us, but he was good at his job and he had a perfect voice for baseball.
