If Clarke can prevent Riley Greene (who looks very dangerous at the plate) from homering to start the game, I'll sign up for a repeat of his last start.
Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised with the bullpen last night. These guys may be rounding into shape.

Weaver did a great job cleaning up at the top of the sixth!

I wonder what Judge said to warrant getting thrown out. It was a strike.

Glad for the win. But some of these umpires are just plain bad, really bad. From what I saw, and I didn’t see the whole game, he made a bad call earlier on one of the Yankees but I forget who it was, The ball was obviously off the plate and it was called a strike. Perhaps it was a correct call on Judge, but some bad calls by umps behind the plate and on going around or holding up strike calls by first or third base umpires have been brutal from what I have seen.

He had his share of bad calls, but he was getting a lot of lip from players on calls that were strikes. The top of the next inning he had a bad call on each of the Tigers.

did not see the game but psyched to see judge collected a couple hits and the riz went yard. detroit is good, these are nice wins after the baltimore depression.
has anyone here spent anytime in detroit? i hear it is beyond bad. a company i deal with only sends big males out for sale calls due to safety issues.

I hope I'm wrong, but tomorrow's home plate ump, Jiminez, is the worst I've seen this year

Many people go there and don't have a problem and others get unlucky. Definitely don't want to park your car on the street

The home plate ump was bad, for both teams.

Does anyone ever do anything about an umpire who is consistently making bad calls? Somebody above them that has the authority? I mean if an umpire is just bad for the game he should have some kind of discipline handed out. I know nothing about how it works. If anything works.

Borderline pitch imo could have gone either way.
Judge had a right to beef and said few words to let the umpire know.
I think imo umpire was too quick to toss him. I mean he was walking away from the umpire.
Detroit. I went there couple of years ago, pending on where you are, great food and fun city.
Weaver is a big surprised. The guy all of the sudden can hit 97 few times?
Offense is still frustrating. But base running was Little League/Babe Ruth like. Don’t know what Rizzo and Gleyber were doing in that 7th inning.
We won again. That’s all it matters.
