Sasaki is now available and don’t know how serious Cash is on this.
But looking ahead who we do have 9 starters in the mix I supposed: Cole (ace resigned new contract) Rodon (should be better) Gil (ROY enough said) Schmidt (solid season) Cortes (arbitration and due to make $8.3M minimum) Strohman ($18.5M for 2025) Also in the mix waiting at AAA: Warren Gomez Beeter
Can’t complain about the depth. I honestly think Cash is going to make few off season trades . Will Stro and Cortes still be a Yankee?

Interesting. I know John thinks Warren has potential, but I haven’t liked what I saw. He seems overwhelmed.
Stroman got a $1 million signing bonus, so he only cost $18 million. All his pitches have dropped to 90 or below.

I think Warren need to work on the third pitch, perhaps another year in AAA will help?
Beeter imo has the best chance but needs to stay healthy and not be too wild.
Y. Gomez sometimes has the look of being a pitcher with running fastball into the hands of batters

And on the Roku Sasaski sweepstakes it appears Padres and Dodgers are two best teams to land him.

When money isn’t the issue, you’d have to think the Dodgers will get him. Great weather, extremely competitive team, great food, Japanese teammates and the best flights back to Japan. I really don’t like the Dodgers.

What about San Diego? Also Japan-facing coast and were competitive against the Dodgers in the 1st round -- i.e., a couple of pieces away.

Dead arm sounds very possible. Hopefully he will get good training over the offseason and can recover some of his speed. 90 mph fastball doesn’t really do it anymore

Not sure why he would be on the rotation if he had a dead arm. But he did have a conflict with Cashman.
