We aren't supposed to lose to Canada in baseball!! Only in hockey are we supposed to lose to those guys! Nice to see the Red Sox doing there part in these games...Varitek grand slam, Adam Stern inside the park homer, 4 rbis, and 2 nice catches. Is Arod ever going to show up for big games? Arod, our country needs you. Time to sac up!!

A-Rod came to bat once yesterday and did get a basehit, to keep alive the hopes of a comeback, however, he was left stranded. This is a game of inches and we came quite close to going ahead in the eighth, but it wasn't to be. We have to start taking the field as if we were the underdogs, not taking anything for granted. I think that we are so overconfident that we forget there are no small enemies. Always reliables Griffey and Wells hurt us with their defense. Today, can not only lose to Canada, which has some very good ballplayers, but to anyone who has the desire to upset us....

Slamming A-Rod while touting the Sox players certainly takes away from the validity of your post. The fact that A-Rod kept the 9th going with 2 down apparently missed your less than keen eye for this game.
I happen to agree with your Sox players assesment, but sometimes Sox fans remind me of a little kid that gets a toy taken away from them, and they can never forgive the toy.
As far as the game goes, it was an enjoyable one to watch. I thought Chase Utley's blast was gone which would have given us a lead.
But upsets in baseball are the nature of the beast we watch. Congrats to Canada.

Congrats to Canada. well put...it does raise the question- did they pitch well? or did we NOT hit? All the supposed experts (who want to sound like they know or have played the game) will say "pitching always wins...blah blah blah..." But, when a team of USA All-Stars doesn't score runs against a AA pitcher I acknowldege the pitcher and blame the offense. NOT hitting loses.

We would have won if Willis hadnt pitched so poorly. To win a game you need both hitting and pitching. But good pitching will normally beat good hitting if everything else is equal
