8-)Puerto Rico faced the tough Dominican team yesterday that had Bartolo Colon pitching, Soriano, Beltre, Moises Alou, Albert Pujols, Encarnacion, Tejada and Papi Ortiz and beat them 7-1, allowing just 6 hits to this potent lineup. With this victory, Puerto Rico now is 4-0, having beaten Cuba 12-2, and now D.R. Sometimes not always the best team wins, as is in our Yankees, who having the team to win it all, somehow weaker teams have beaten us. Today we face Venezuela, who having also a good lineup with excellent pitching, has lost, with Johan Santana having lost his 2 outings. Cuba beat him yesterday. So, there are no small enemies. P.R. also has a pretty good lineup, with Bernie, Pudge Rodz., Javi Lopez, Beltran, and although it doesn't compare to the Dominicans, our hearts are as big as anyone's.

Puerto Rico lost yesterday to Venezuela, creating a 4 way tie. Today D.R. faces Venezuela with the winner advancing and the loser going home. Tomorrow P.R. will face Cuba, with the same scenario...It's getting interesting!

Alas, bad news Johnny.
Puerto Rico lost to Cuba 4-3 and was eliminated. Red Machine this time was better winning 4-3. My consolations to Puerto Ricans.
So far South Korea is the best, undefeated. I thought that USA and DR filled with major leaguers would be above competition.

Yes, P.R. has been eliminated from the WBC. Cuba has shown that they can go head to head with anyone. I don't want to find excuses, but most of these ML players are just about going through ST right now and are not in their best form. That is the case of the US, as I stated yesterday. Zbi, under normal conditions, they would be far above. If these games were played around July, it would be a different story.
