Arod admitted to doing steroids- PERIOD END OF STORY. pete abraham, mike lupica, buster olney, ken rosenthal, and scores of other pantloads now want MORE. where did he get it? how much did it cost? did he inject it? who is the cousin? hmmmmmm? did he take a boat to the DR? what was the name of the store? over the counter??? you were dumb??? you were young? was the sun out that day? you hurt your neck??? why did you blink when you said that? why are you sweating??? are the tears real? do you bleed??? what did you do with the vials? STOP THE EFFING INSANITY!he admitted doing it. Why isnt that enough for them? ? This isnt Roger Clemens denying it. The media is confused they think somehow AROD is denying it yet they still have these burning questions to prove him wrong...sorry folks, he admitted it. STOP with the BS and the grandstanding!!!!!! the media speaks outta both sides of their mouths- they want the admission- the "perp walk"- they got it yesterday. They asked their questions...and now they complain because they dont have ther cousin's name? how is that important? If AROD stated I never did steroids and you can ask my cousin. He will vouch for me...then yeah- I get it, they'll need him name to follow up. But to what end do they need to speak to the "cousin" now? just to confirm what AROD said? why? You think AROD admitting to using steroids sisnt enough? Perhaps theres more somehow? ? STOPlisten, all the HS jocks are sorry we jammed all you weasly little former "team managers" into lockers and now you've become reporters and want to grind your axes- we're sorry, we really are...but please just STOP with the questions... ...and its not that I want you to stop because Im "afraid more will come out" what else is there? He was a steroid user and used "Ripped Fuel" in Seattle. THERE IS THE STORY. write it...and let it go. MAINSTREAM MEDIA CAN F OFFAS AN AMERICAN i AM CONCERNED WITH OUR FUTURE BECASUE OF THESE AHOLES IN MEDIA. EFFIN AHOLES THAT NEED TO BE STOPPED. SPREAD THE WORD. TELL THEM WHAT ASBURYBOSS SAID.

The funny part of this is AB that they don't really give a rats @$$ about what is right , wrong , or indifferent , all they are looking for is something to talk about to fuel the talk shows , and to print about . I really don't think they get the fact that most people are ready to throw up at the sound of the word steroid.
Another thing is that these writers are really lazy , they want something to write about that's handed to them , and something they feel can carry them for months. They should get their butts out there and get real stories like the media used to get when I was a kid. I couldn't wait for the new issue of Sport magazine to come out when I was a kid , or Baseball Digest . They always had stories about what the players did in the baseball world , none of this gossip crap . I wish it would go back to real sports reporting and not this paparazzi crap of today . Maybe then I'd buy a magazine or a paper again.
( I told ya not to get me going ) lol

ab....really man, when you will start telling us how you REALLY FEEL ? The media ain't gonna stop until they identify the forest from which the wood to construct the bench on which the steroids were prepared. If it was you or me (well me anyway), the story would have died before it got started. But, we are dealing with the supposedly "best" player in baseball. Here is a suggestion to maintain a pleasant state of mental health through all this: STOP READING ABOUT IT AND STOP POSTING ABOUT IT !!!!!!!!!!

I think the answer to your questions become obvious when you listen to the various staements that A-Rod is making. There is quite a bit of conflicting information, so naturally ppl want to know what the truth is and which story is correct. A-Rod created a lot of this mess himself, so he is first and foremost in the blame game. When A-Rod first spoke of this to Gammons he should have defined the parameters of what he would and wouldn't speak about,....something like this.
I used (name your steroid) between xxxx & xxxx. I was lying to myself, my team, my fans, and the media. For that I can only offer my apology. No one else is responsible for my poor judgment, and therefore I will not discuss the details of where I got it, who I got it from, or ANY other details that are irrelevant to MY POOR DECISIONS. Again, I am admitting to using a substance that is currently banned by MLB. I will accept whatever punishment is coming to me from the fans and I will work tirelessly in regaining the trust that I alone have destroyed.
BTW, I love when Johnny Damon is asked what would have been worse his answer is "murdering someone" !! What a bonehead answer!

He brought this upon himself. It's called accountability, quit hiding behind "I was young & naive" or "I didn't know what it was" BS.
Maybe if he didn't lie, it wouldn't be as bad, although because it's him, it still wouldn't have gone away.
To anyone who actually believes him, I've got some ocean front property I'd like to sell you.

Has ARod ever used the word "steroid" in all this? I don't think so.
AB, Do you believe that he didn't know what he was taking?

If he had said I did steroids and I know I broke the rules, that's all I'm going to say, that would be it. But when he makes up obviously bogus stories about the past, including the one about Selena Roberts and the one about his "cousin, he keeps the steroid coverage going and the A-Rod sideshow continues. What's the point of giving a press conference if you're going to tell a bunch of lies. I'm sick of this guy's b.s.

I believe arod admitted to taking illegal substances/ steroids/ uppers...whatever!?!?!? That was what the big hullabaloo was about yesterday- he admitted it. He said he took "Boli" (whoich is the street name for Primobolan- a steroid)...thats not enough??? does he really need to get into how often, how cognizant he was of the results, or any of that other crap? I dont need him to do that....Im not sure why anybody would need him to do that. Cant we just accept that he admitted to taking Primobolan 2X a month for 3 years? No, huh??? OK- continue the skewering then...just curious when y'all will be satisified?

I'll be satisfied when I feel there is truth in what he is saying. When he makes up tall tales and takes us ALL for idiots, that's a bit insulting. But let's not forget that HE was the one who decided to provide some of the ridiculous details that are now being scrutinized, and I think it is ENTIRELY reasonable that the truth is sought after. Alex brought this in himself.

Look, clearly A-Rod is not telling the whole truth, but I agree with AB, why does anyone think they're entitled to know all the details? This isn't a trial. A-Rod's not under oath. Here's all anybody needs to know, IMO.
1. He took steroids in 2001-2003. 2. He's not taking them any more. 3. He apologizes.
Case closed.

Jeter gave a great answer to a question asked of him in his media interview today .
A reporter asked him what he was thinking when A-Rod hesitated before thanking his teammates yesterday.
Jeter said " it's your job to over analyze not mine " lol I loved it

OK, naysayers, convince me the media gives a damn about the whole truth. Evidence to the contrary: --Another 1st ballot HOF talent, Ivan Rodriguez, says "Only God knows " in response to the question of whether he used or not. Media response: giggles. -- Pettitte changed his story 2 or 3 times and the story was allowed to die (rightfully so) -- An "I'm sorry" from Giambi buried his story (rightfully so) --Any quotes from those even slightly sympathetic to A-Rod's case (Jim Kaat/ Mike Schmidt) are quickly buried. Jamie Moyer's comments run non-stop on ESPN's the bottom line. Anyone attempting to convince me the media frenzy has anything to do with "the truth" is stupid. Just borrowing your phrase from yesterday NYY23. This is a feeding frenzy, not a quest for "Truth, Justice, and the American Way".

1) A-Rod could have handled this much better...I won't repeat what's been pointed out by other here...many good points made already, especially by RIYankee and POTY.
2) It's media's job to do what they're doing....PERIOD! Right or wrong...fair or unfair...that's the way it is and us getting worked up about it is a complete waste of energy.
Play ball...go Yankees!

The media wants people to get worked up. That's what they do because it sells. It obviously worked well for a lot of people here.
I don't care what he did - I truely believe that more guys were doing it than weren't. I just don't like the way he handled/lied about it. He knows he's a lightening rod, why stir the pot and cause even more of a commotion for the team? That's what annoys me that he's always the drama queen and is (or comes off as) a phony.
Nonetheless, he's a Yankee so I will root for him no matter what. I would even root for GWBush if he was wearing pinstripes.
Eddie is right, play ball!
