You know when you catch your kid in a stupid lie...one that questions your intelligence...
then they keep adding to the lie and you sit back and watch ..just shaking your head waiting for the part where aliens made them do the stupid thing???
A-Rod's stupid alien is from the D.R.
I've had enough of stupid A-Rod...

Look, clearly A-Rod is not telling the whole truth, but I agree with AB, why does anyone think they're entitled to know all the details? This isn't a trial. A-Rod's not under oath. Here's all anybody needs to know, IMO. 1. He took steroids in 2001-2003. 2. He's not taking them any more. 3. He apologizes. Case closed. I wholeheartedly agree. "The whole truth"? OK, naysayers, convince me the media gives a damn about the whole truth. Evidence to the contrary: --Another 1st ballot HOF talent, Ivan Rodriguez, says "Only God knows " in response to the question of whether he used or not. Media response: giggles. -- Pettitte changed his story 2 or 3 times and the story was allowed to die (rightfully so) -- An "I'm sorry" from Giambi buried his story (rightfully so) --Any quotes from those even slightly sympathetic to A-Rod's case (Jim Kaat/ Mike Schmidt) are quickly buried. Jamie Moyer's comments run non-stop on ESPN's the bottom line. Anyone attempting to convince me the media frenzy has anything to do with "the truth" is stupid. Just borrowing your phrase from yesterday NYY23. This is a feeding frenzy, not a quest for "Truth, Justice, and the American Way". I understand that the media has their own agenda, but I cannot lump them all in to one group. I have to believe that some of them are interested in the truth,....so if that makes me STUPID, so be it. Regardless, I am not so stupid that I don't realize when someone is being less than honest with me, and I think A-Rod is being less than honest. He opened this can of worms by offering these lame explanations. I didn't say I needed to know, but now that you have started to explain yourself, I guess I have a right to judge the merits of what your are saying.

I didn't say I needed to know, but now that you have started to explain yourself, I guess I have a right to judge the merits of what your are saying. That's great. I'm still wondering where this group of fans who (or so I'm told) believes every word A-Rod is saying. They sure aren't at BTB. Isn't it blatantly obvious that the vast majority here are ready for baseball, not rehashed stories? I was responding to a comment about such fans being "stupid" in a post made yesterday (it wasn't my post). Where are they? Can't say I've crossed paths with them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I read the post, but chose to respond to it. My fault entirely. At least that much is true. Sure, POTY, SOME writers are interested in the truth, but if you go back to the 1st post in the thread, you'll see I was commenting on big media in general, not every writer in the U.S. Again, this story has nothing to do with "the whole truth"..... it is selective truth, at best. Judge away.... I'll leave that for those who are vastly superior to me.

POTY...should he have just said "no comment"?
He has been the most forthcoming player to date (after canseco)

POTY...should he have just said "no comment"? He has been the most forthcoming player to date (after canseco) Exactly.......what do they want?? Anything to sell print and justify their existence.....whatever that is. I wish Alex had just left it with the Gammons interview.....that was surely enough.

POTY...should he have just said "no comment"? He has been the most forthcoming player to date (after canseco) Absolutely not, but he went in a direction that opened up more questions. I think he should have responded something along the lines of what I said in a previous post. Does anyone think that the media is simply going to let this go under the radar? He's only the biggest fish so far to have admitted this, and you best believe they are going to see if his "Story" checks out. Tired as you are of hearing about it, I'm just as tired of these guys soiling the game......and YES, I do consider it soiling this magnificent game!

Bonds is the biggest fish. He HAS the record (single season and career)..and arod has handled it 1Billion times better than bonds Bonds is not an active player, and not to defend the jerk, but Bonds never HAD to come clean because no one has accused him of failing a test. Instead, Bonds was very elusive about everything, but I believe his day is coming. I don't think people were surprised or shocked about Bonds. No one liked the jerk anyway. A-Rod was supposed to bring back the record to a clean player. Anyway, let's not split hairs about who was the biggest name. It is safe to say that this is a story that all media will follow because of the magnitude of who it was. A-Rod is basically backed into a corner, so I don't give him credit for coming clean after getting caught. He is wise to come clean, as opposed to denying or deflecting, but I reserve my KUDOS for guys who really deserve it. I am happy he admitted it, but I think his story is ridiculous. Don't you? Or do you believe everything he is saying? And if you do, why do you?

As I've said, I'm satisified he came clean...to me, the details of when, how and why are superfluous. They aren't important to me.
He told me he did them.
Good enough for me

As far as I'm concerned he don't need to talk about it anymore to the freakin media.
Like you said he admitted it , so that's all there is ( as peggy lee would say ) .

AB, you need a vacation. Why don't you get out of the states for a while : ) Don't worry guys, let the media get to A-Rod for the next month...They are ready to pounce on Bonds and Clemens soon. It will make A-Rod like an innocent one. Just let A-Rod keep facing the media and hopefully everything he says is true and it will eventually die down...

Why the hell on earth should he keep playing that game with the media , I don't agree with that at all, he don't own then a friggin thing , he already said he did it . Like AB said who care about how he did it ,where he got it , who he got it from , if he ever farted while injecting himself , WHO CARES !!!!!! People need to get a live if they're that concerned about finding out all the details about what alex did. comon.

Guys! I understand your pain but it is what it is. Let it go! Think of Tex. Think of CC. Think of Joba. Think of AJ...There is a Yankee team out there...As I said before I would much rather have the media get to A-Rod rather than the whole team. Things will eventually die...Besides A-Rod hired 2 organizations to help him prepare for the media...

I got an even better idea , How about the media just goes away .
Seriously I do believe he should ignore them from now on , if he don't they will keep up his butt all year long .

The media just goes away............yeah right. That's TOTALLY unrealistic. Does the media EVER go away when they have a HOT story? That's just unrealistic. And to suggest that A-Rod should be able to tell a story that sounds a little far fetched and the media should just ignore it and accept that "he admitted it" is ridiculous. I mean, come on. Does A-Rod bear the burden of the blame here at all? Is the public to be taken for a bunch of fools? Like I said before, I would have been alright with a simple admission, followed up with a statement that he is not going into the details of who, what, when, where, and how, but ALEX choose this story, NOT the media.

Amen. And the only reason why I care is because it creates a circus for the team. If they win despite that, than no biggie. But they haven't won in the ARod years yet and it's been one soap opera after another.

Yeah. Let's keep this going forever. Next up: 1. His "cousin" has been identified 2. MLB wants A-Rod to come in for questioning. MLB would have accepted a simple admission without the who, what, when, where, and how? No. That's ridiculous. To believe that would mean a single standard was in play. Pettitte's story changed twice and it was let go. A-Rod's story doesn't have to continue, but, as the big story, it will continue. That applies to both MLB and the media. Selig would have said "I'm shocked and outraged, but we're going to let it go"? No. Of course not. No one is going to buy that. No one. No search for the other 103 (despite 4 sources with access to the lists) because the feeding frenzy is still in session.
