I sense the story is beginning to die down. As far as I'm concerned its done. Over the last 12 hours it's even fading away on XM 175. Glad Pete Abraham is now PEDs free.
Back to Yankee baseball and the real battles / decisions:
- Brett in CF or Melky or Damon or Swisher or someone else. - Who will earn the long relief / spot starter spot? - Who earns the final two spots in the pen? - Lets see how much AJAX has advanced? - How about Montero? Will he get 40ABs in Tampa?

MLB would have accepted a simple admission without the who, what, when, where, and how? No. I think we were referring to the media, but if you want to drag MLB into this, fine. MLB has been running for cover on this story for years. I think they would actually prefer it to go away, much like most everyone else. I don't see MLB leading the way in getting to the bottom of this......probably because at the end of the road you will find that MLB was responsible for ALLOWING things to get to this point because BUSINESS WAS GOOD. Yes, A-Rod could have taken FULL responsibility for this without having to turn it into the circus it has become. Pretty simple.....tell the truth and ONLY the truth, and if there are details you are unwilling to discuss, let it be known that you are not willing to discuss those. I do believe he still has the right to speak or not speak , freely.

I want to drag MLB into this? Here's the link to the article if you need it. newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090218&content_id=3847578&vkey=news_nyy&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyyMLB wants the story to continue. I'm sick of it. I don't work for the commissioners office. I don't want an investigation or another round of questions/ media sessions. Yes, MLB let this carry on for a long time because business was good. That's why Bud's "I wasn't aware this was a problem" stance drug on for so long. His cries of shock and outrage are laughable.

You and I both are sick of it, but I don't want to close my eyes and pretend it is all just going to go away. I want accountability, and unfortunately it's not going to be fun. I see this as an assault against the game of baseball, which as A-Rod correctly stated, is bigger than him or anyone or any team. I see 3 parties at fault in this; the players, MLB, and the fans. Each had their part in allowing this to happen. As for A-Rod, I don't care so much about the details, but if he is going to tell a story, at least let it be something that I can feel was truthful. His tale has a lot of holes in it, and I think that is what the media is holding on to. Wait till the book comes out in April.......we'll see another round of this all over again.

I don't know about the fans. I can only speak for myself on that one. The problem should have been solved 15 or more years ago, but neither MLB or the players union was interested.
Again, selective truth is the problem.
Pettitte: "I only used once.... make that twice..... ummm .... perhaps it was more than twice" = good enough.
Ivan Rodriguez: "Only God knows" = good enough
Bonds: This dates a few years back. I no longer have the magazine, but an FBI agent spent MONTHS trying to contact Selig about Bonds' steroid use. The media barely touched the story. COULD Selig have responded? Absolutely. COULD the media have ran with the story the same way they do now? Absolutely. COULD Bonds have been honest? Certainly. Didn't happen. Not even close.
McGwire: The reporter who broke the story of a bottle of andro in his locker was blacklisted. No MLB investigation. Nothing much from the media.
Selective truth, at best. Pick and choose targets when convenient. Ignore the rest.

I agree with AB on this.
WHAT ELSE CAN THE GUY SAY? He admitted it. Thats good enough. All the other BS is garbage. It's very tiring.

Of course he didn't tell the 100% truth , But who cares !!!
I don't have the need to know every if ,and , or but . He said he did stuff and that's good enough for me. To be honest if he didn't say a word on it I wouldn't have cared.
