Greatest 2b of his generation.
From what I'm told of his fellow second sackers, if he has 4 more good years, ab is right.
You KNEW I couldn't stay out of this one.

Definitely never thought of him as the GOAT. But Knux is probably right, best of his generation, off the top of my head. Of course, there is what Mo said about him, and I take what that undisputed GOAT says more seriously than what anyone here does, no offense.

I'm not ready to say cano is the greatest 2b not to share a glove ..... Who is your pick? I think alomar Sandberg and Morgan can each make a case ......all 3 had better Imo all around games .... especially alomar and Morgan. Sandberg was the first real big bopper at that position. And he's not my cup of tea but Jeff Kent had a good career as well .... generation ?? Yeah he's the best. Utley when healthy may have been a better hitter ....may have been!!! Admittedly the 3 guys I mentioned never put up the power numbers of cano but during their day infielders never did. They were however big time contributor's to their teams success with all around game. They did everything right.....cano has come up small when it really counted Imo....

With Altuve, Dozier and Schoop also in the AL, Cano is only at best the 3rd and maybe the 4th best second baseman right now in AL and may at age 35 never get another All Star game start...if even an appearance. His OPS last year was 8th among ML guys at that position....OBP was 10th.

I like schoop better then dozier but you make a fair point. Cano is no Hof lock

Also...Cano may never get another post season chance to improve his career post numbers which frankly are really weak. Seattle has become a black hole for him to ride off into his $$$ laden sunset.

So after hearing the constant complaint with the Cano contract being that he's too old for it (meaning he's played top of game too long), Altuve and Schoop have slipped by based on their shorter careers?
Wow.
And Dozier does not belong based on his defense.

Dozier? You guys are high. Maybe Lamont Dozier.
And, Rogers Hornsby was a racist a-wipe, so screw him.
Gimme Cano anyday. Best 2B ever.

If we didn't know any better, we would think there's some type of collusion going on... I wouldn't rule out 30 owners wanting to pull something like that...but how does that work, the mechanics? Conference call? Group email? Work thru a medium? Meet up at Chuck E Cheeses ""All kids and moms...no one will recognize us there!"? Okay being silly...but also serious and curious not challenging you...wondering how this might work? You think these captains of industry wouldn't have some kind of backchannel? It wouldn't take much.

Well not many guys are the best at their positions for their entire career. Always someone Knocking on the door.....altuve has been best 2b in game last 2 years ......I don't see him regaining crown if there is such a thing. Rue the day he left if u want but Yanks did right to let him go.

You guys are talking from your crevices....Derek Jeter never won an MVP. Derek Jeter wasn’t the best SS in the game for every year of his career...but over a 20-whatever year career he complied enough, did enough, and had enough of the boxes checked off to look back and say his body of work, for his career made him the best that ever played SS. Jeff Kent? Ok I’ll doscuss his merits, even Robbie alomar...but those two are IT. Whoever said Brian dozier please report to principals office (that’s like David L saying Santana and Bregman are better than machado— GTFOH!)
Same with cano...he may not be the best 2b in the game at any given point- so what!?!? He will finish with 3000 hits, 400+ HR, 300+ career BA etc etc etc....if Jose altuve ever approaches those numbers OVER HIS CAREER then let’s talk. You guys would’ve told Dustin Pedroia is better than cano the year after Pedroia won the mvp....just like Red Sox dbag fans used to chant “nomars better” in jeters face (of course ask any of them now and they give you this “I always loved jetah I never said that!!! Jerkoffs) I expect this sort of stuff from two guys who consistently need to make your weak @$$ case for rice being in the hall of fame. It’s what you guys do. You JO over a two year span and poo poo a careers worth of numbers.
I expect this from ponytail....but you Mikey? I’m disappointed!! Lol
